"Best $10 I have ever spent! All 3 of my kiddos had an absolute blast and found a ton of crystals of various quality. The employee that was working went well out of his way to make sure that we were having fun and that the kids all found something special. We will absolutely be returning!"
"This place is disgusting. I support they only charge $10 in hopes that people won't bother getting a refund. The road in is rough but it's not that bad, it's passable. I honestly wondered if I was at the wrong place! When you get to the end of the road all you can see is a run down, should be condemned trailer surrounded by heaps of trash! It's literally a dumpster! I thought i found some squatter's happenstance out in the woods. Then I saw a digging area so I parked. Our comes a guy from the nasty trailer and he pointed to a very tiny, not fresh dirt, digging area. Someone mentioned being treated like a trespasser and I agree. It was very very strange the way he spoke to us and motioned for us to specifically park (not that there was anybody there, nor did I suspect other diggers would even bother). When we had purchased our entry at the rock shop the gal told us you can go anywhere in the dig area however the dig area is like the size of a daycare play area. I looked at my buddy, he looked at me, we got right back in the vehicle and left. And yes we drove the half hour back to the rock shop and my friend got our money back. Shame on these people for collecting entry $10 from folks. It's just a way to get pocket change from people. They advertise such a great mine but it's a run down, trashy, unkept, uncared for squatter's pad out in the woods. I recommend NOBODY go here. Not even worth it! Too bad too! I've been to all the other mines in the area and the nerve of this place to even claim to be good is a joke. Disgusting. How's that for an honest review? It's a washed up old hole in the woods. A trash heap with a trailer in the middle of all the trash. Zero class. DON'T BOTHER!!!! I see the owners response to other bad reviews and it is not impressive. Neither was your mine. Hot dang if you were getting my $10. No ma'am!!! Now you know the truth, so does the owner! Save your time and money and head to a real mine and day of good fun. I didn't take photos because we left right away but someone ought to post a photo of that trailer with the next bad review..."
"This is a very basic rock shop and it is a bit over priced. If you choose to go dig for crystals you need to know that it is about 12 miles from the rock shop down some dirt roads in the Arkansas forest. When you arrive it looks a a bit sketchy with a mobile home, dead equipment and beer cans strewn around everywhere. Mick and his dog Gypsy Rose met us and gave us the spill about where we could look. For us it was a cold and rainy day so we didn’t stay long, but we did find some nice rocks. You will need to take your own digging equipment and a bucket. If it has been raining there is a good chance your car will not make it up the last hill unless it a 4 wheel drive. I floored it and literally slid up the hill. Ultimately it was fun and we enjoyed the experience, but were a little taken aback by the surroundings."
"As a city girl I was pretty nervous about this and the winding road up to the mine lol but it was really scenic and pleasant and felt safe. We were greeted by a cute doggo and Mick, who was nice and had all the gear we needed to get digging. I found a bunch of shiny crystals to make necklaces with and my family and I enjoyed ourselves. My 3 year old even had a good time digging! Granted, we are (obviously) very novice. Regardless I’m glad we didn’t go to the other ones— this one was more down to earth."
"The visit to the mine was disappointing. There is a large hill of dirt in which you get to dig, but it is not new or fresh. The caretaker said they've been adding to that pile for the last 18 months or so and the freshest bit was a small mound of red dirt off to one side. Thus, you know immediately that you are digging where everyone else has already dug through - tailings of tailings - since the mound is only infrequently added to. That being said, we did find some small crystals but after two hours of digging we had very little material so we called it a day. We'd been to this site years ago and it was our favorite memory due to the quantity of quartz we found and the obvious fresh dirt in which to dig. Unfortunately, this time around it was the worst site."
