"Pro: maintenance guy, cleaning person make you feel secure and comfortable. Coffee for residents staying there, events, treats for dog. Con: Rude managers that are unprofessional. If you came back early from a tour and is in your unit still, although you answered them back because you were in your apartment, they will message you that they have a bad experience with you because you were in your apartment when they were going to tour your place. Also manager stating that it is “awkward” for them and you as a resident there because you were inside before they completed the tour. Then later send you about their rules as if you did not follow through with staff and cooperating with them. If anything I already told them in the most polite way possible. A more professional person will say, “ I noticed you have missed my email about the tour, is there a different time we can reschedule. I was thinking (o’clock) at this (date).” Another downfall is trash for dog waste, the trash outdoors for your dog’s waste can get full and overfill. Which is disgusting this has happened several times. Another dog problem is the dog washing station, it can get flooded and you can’t use outlet to dry your dog. I have dried my dog in the elevator room about a few times because of this issue. My dogs poop was collected on February but since I’m about to end my lease on April they send me a fine a week before the end of my lease. I will have to pay for second swap to test again just so they can remove all the money they fine me for. They never got back to me about that if it wasn’t my dogs poop what could they do for me. I still have to pay it because I love my dog. In other words, dogs dna takes 2-3 months to get tested. It should take shorter in my opinion and notice should be earlier noted. Third, I noticed that this place has electrical issues and power could be down for certain reasons. Also, in the summer time this place is infested with ants especially if you are on first floor, you can see ants going down the stairs to underground parking. Fourth, the restaurant Olviers, there are people who are always entering the wrong way and will park on residential parking, It is ridiculously crowded. They have larger parking space now but Oliver’s people still park on your area. Overall a one star, I enjoy my first 6 months and the rest were not as great to my expectations. This place is nice dont get me wrong but, don’t recommend staying long term if I were you who’s about to rent. Maintenance guy deserves a double raise for respectfulness, full of humor and great service. He’s friendly with my dog and husband, give us great advices also. Will be giving him a big tip for the service he gives out to me and my family before we move out. They can improve their management."
"Joe is the absolute best! He carefully filtered through a ton of food salvaging what he could when my unit's refrigerator & freezer unexpectedly quit working. I was in school and away, so not the most attentive to the issue at hand. I truly felt he went above & beyond any expectation I could have imagined helping me out. He is a kind soul and a diligent worker, always helpful and kind to residents. I plan to award Joe in another way for his extra efforts, as he is very deserving! He makes the McMillan a comfortable place to live by great maintenance, and moreover, a fantastic attitude towards potentially bleak problems when they occur."
"First off, when I came to the building I did not know where to park. The leasing agent did not tell me. It was a little confusing because of the restaurant parking is also in the same parking lot. Secondly, when I went inside to meet with the leasing agent that I spoke with on the phone and confirmed with her that she would be the one giving me the tour. She came out of the office and did not speak. She did not smile or introduce herself to me. She looked at me and stood there not speaking until I asked if she was Miranda. She said yes and then told me I would the other leasing agent will be giving me a tour. She was not welcoming at all. The other leasing agent was nice and I can’t remember her name. I actually was not impressed with the building nor the apartments. The kitchen was nice and the bathrooms were decent. I did not like the location of the building on the corner of 694 & Rice street and with the restaurant downstairs. It could be nice but I can see the parking being a problem. Other than that, it was just okay in my opinion. I just wasn’t too impressed."
"When I first moved here, it was very well kept and had a great staff. Location is convenient, but some concerns with previous break ins, theft, and crime. There has been high turnover with management in the last 3 years. Joe and Mark are efficient and reliable! Beautiful large windows and open concept, but the upkeep in cleanliness is poor. They haven’t scheduled window or patio cleaning in 2 years, every window and patio are covered in spider webs and dirt. If you live on the 2nd floor or above you won’t be able to clean them yourself. When I first moved here, they did spring and end of summer cleaning. Parking is inconvenient for guests. You need a pass for your guests from the office, so if you make late plans, or plans after the office closed, guests will potentially get towed. Pool umbrellas last summer were either broken, or missing. Other amenities are not always working."
"Pros: beautiful property, nice amenities, maintenance crew is very friendly and helpful, close to major highways Cons: the parking situation is pretty ridiculous. The outer perimeter is for residents while the inside parking is for the restaurant. Often times, restaurant patrons park in resident parking. There is not enough clear signage to enforce this kind of parking. My brother, who was checking on our cats, had his car towed for being in resident parking without a sticker. Yet, I’ve never seen any of these restaurant patron cars being towed. Our apartment is right next to the elevator and I would advise no one rent this apartment unless you are a heavy sleeper because you will need three fans going to drown out the sound. Office staff is untimely in responding to emails if they even decide to."
