"It was like 19 degrees when we went, saw the grinch he was at the pavillian. Rode on the horse carriage. Warmed up at the post office. Saw some old buisnesses that took place here. The old fire dept was pretty cool. Went to the tailer and saw the dresses and coats. Went to a building with old saddles and reings the old church had some decent items including some high esteemed chairs. Went inside for bathroom, and got some honeycomb fresh from the farm for 6 dollars at the store. There was also a salvation army bellman inside who told us about the upper souix agency nearby. There was a good amount of parking and a very cheery place with a fire going on in the middle. Old minnesota nice here too. Got to love it."
"Went here for Christmas in the village. In my opinion they should do a Halloween themed event down here. Lots of spooky old stuff. Cobwebi. Rusty and dusty."
"Just because the welcome center is open. Don't mean the village is open. If stopping, you might want to check."
"We loved it. Our tour guide was the absolute best. She was super informative, genuinely warm and welcoming, with a bubbly personality. There was a lot to see... not only was the history well preserved and displayed the best part was all the stuff you could actually touch! Don't put me in a room full of things and tell me not to touch...because I'll want to even more. It was great! We flipped through bank ledgers, looked at historic mortgage documents, pulled the school bell! There are some things you can't touch and there are signs posted....so respect that, but everything else free game. Lots of places to sit and enjoy the weather or wait for the slow pokes you came with. A lot of people had their very well behaved dogs along. It took about 2hr to see everything. Not a lot going on in the gift shop but the Museum is a gem and must see!"
"Had a wonderful Christmas setup. We had a great time. My 3yr loved everything."
