"Lisa Albrecht in the leasing office wasn’t very helpful. She said she’d put me on the waitlist and call me if they get to it. Didn’t even ask me any questions. Kinda rude if you ask me. Very unfortunate as I was very interested in this property but now will sadly never go back."
"Love how roomy my apartment is, but some of the appliances are pretty old and loud. I’ve had multiple things break in less than a year of being here and it often takes awhile for things to be fixed-ish. Walls are really thin and they raise rent astronomically each year. Management can be helpful sometimes, but upper management seems to slow things down a lot. The building could do with upkeep and there seems to be a constant security issue (why not just hire a security guard?). It’s fine here but the rent is not affordable."
"I lived at Carleton for 4 years. I loved my time in my beautiful loft and it was bittersweet to leave. I made the financial decision to move out due to significant rent increases and multiple towing expenses. Pros: - Dance studio - Gym - Dog friendly - Maintenance / cleaning staff - Location (between MPLS & St Paul) - Light rail access - Large apartment with high ceilings Cons: - Large rent increases in lease renewal. Income restricted housing are now exempt from the 3% rent increase cap laws in St. Paul. Meaning they can increase your rent by more than 3% after a 12 month period. As artists living with inflation, it is quite difficult to have your rent be increased by $150+ per month. - There are no designated parking spots and only one car allowed per unit. I traveled every week during the winter months for work and I would leave my car at home as I took the light rail to the airport. It often snowed while I was gone and my car would get towed. I would have to pay $300-500 to get my car back when I returned. They charge you for every day the car is at the impound lot and I didn’t ever know it was even gone until I returned. I spoke to management about my situation but there were no exceptions or reimbursements for towing expenses. Only way around it is to park somewhere else or rely on someone else to move your car for you when it snows. This became a huge problem and inconvenience for me."
"Mike and David are hands down the best maintenance crew I've experienced!!! I appreciate them both taking the time to explain any repair or apartment issues! They are kind and remarkable to my pets, Bean and Pig! I can't ask for anything better! I love feeling safe that my place is in good hands!"
"I have loved living at Carleton Artist Lofts! My husband and I have adored our beautiful apartment (see photos). The rent is reasonable, the management is great, and the space is gorgeous. Another positive is the location & how close the lightrail is. We can get to a Twins game or to work without driving! We have always felt safe as security and safety is a priority. This is such a great place - I totally recommend!"
