Reviews of The Lyric at Carleton Place
"I have absolutely loved living at the Lyric! The maintenance team is fantastic—quick, efficient, and always friendly. The floor plans are the biggest for the area, and the amenities, like the sauna, weight room, and lounges, are top-notch. Plus great shops nearby like Dogwood coffee and very close to the Greenline transit. Highly recommend for a comfortable and enjoyable living experience!"
"I have lived here for about 4 months and have had pros and cons. The pros is that the building is overall a nice place to be at. I feel safe, I feel that they keep the place tidy and the apartment itself has a lot of space and big windows! The cons is that management can be unresponsive sometimes and the lack of window in one of the bedrooms. It also seems like a lot of stuff is breaking down but management is quick to get it back running again. Overall, I am happy and would recommend living here!"
"I've been residing at the Lyric for 8 months now and it’s been a great experience overall. The amenities provided here are top-notch and one of the best features of this complex is the abundance of natural light, especially with the units facing University Ave. Living close to the light rail means occasional rumbling, which might bother some people. However, I find that the windows do a commendable job of keeping most of the noise out, resulting in a relatively quiet environment. It's a minor inconvenience compared to the overall benefits of this location. I must also mention the responsive management team. Whenever I've had any concerns or issues, they've been quick to address them. Overall very happy here!"
"The units here are a good size. A lot of floor plans here have bedrooms that don't have a window so beware. But nice kitchens and other finishes, as well as building amenities. Office is relatively quick at getting issues solved, and same with maintenance. The biggest drawback for me though and why I left after my lease was up: if you are in any type of situation with a roommate, they could care less. I asked them what my options were when a roommate was literally stealing and breaking my stuff, not paying for utilities/rent and they said there was nothing I could do other than to ask them to move out (leaving me with all the rent) or ask them to sign something for me to be able to move out (leaving them with all the rent, so likely wouldn't happen), that I was still responsible for paying for everything since it was a joint lease and that they wouldn't get involved. All that said, it's a great place to live unless you want the office to have even a basic level of human decency toward you!"
"I have lived at The Lyric at Carleton Place for nearly 2 years. I will not be renewing my lease when it expires; however, there are a lot of things I will miss about my apartment, including the large windows and newer full-sized appliances. Overall, I have found maintenance and management staff to be responsive and helpful. If I could change anything about the unit itself it would be to create additional storage space, especially in the kitchen (the shallow drawers are frustrating), have a real bedroom door that keeps out noise from the hallway/stairwell/entryway, and put up some better hedges outside to keep "Looky Loos" and dogs away from the windows. The building is also in close proximity to the light rail which is a pro and a con, as it is convenient to access the train, but there are also some sketchy people that like to hang out on the surrounding sidewalks and building steps. Never felt particularly unsafe, though. The rental price is on par with other luxury buildings I have lived in, but I don't consider paying over $2000 per month for a one bedroom apartment in an industrial area near a recycling center to be a particularly good value, and that's why I have chosen to give 4 stars rather than 5 stars."
