Reviews of Studios at Seven Corners
"Lived here for a year while in graduate school at the U. Affordable for the area, especially since you are located so close to downtown! Generally quiet building since a lot of the residents are students. I only had one or two maintenance issues and those were resolved quickly. Absolutely no problems with management, they are easy to get in touch with and often go out of their way for the tenants. I faced the highway side which had a nice view of the city too."
"I lived here for four years during medical school. It was a wonderful experience overall. I chose this building because it was affordable and a great location. I was thoughtful about my layout (can see a picture below) and used shelving to divide up the studio into different areas. For reference, I lived on the 3rd floor and faced the light rail. Some things I liked about living here: - LOCATION: very close to downtown but because it's at the end of this odd little street it doesn't feel like you are downtown (ie there are trees and grass). Additionally, there is a lot of space between the actual apartments and the road. As a result, it is quieter and less "busy" feeling. At the same time, because of the great location you can get anywhere from here. Downtown is a short walk, including the stadium. The U of MN east bank is one train stop away. Many hospitals are on the light rail so it was great to be so close to the West Bank Station. You can also take the light rail to airport which is great. the There's a chipotle very close as well. I enjoy walking and found it easy to get up early and walk around the U of MN campus or the nearby gold medal park. - SAFETY: I felt very safe living here. Never had any issues with safety in this area or the building. The building is locked which is nice. I also like that the first floor is the lobby so even if you live on the first floor of apartments you aren't on ground level. Finally, because of the design of the building, it's hard for folks on the ground to access the apartments even if they wanted to. - AMENITIES: great to have an elevator. I think in four years only once did it break and was fixed quickly. There's also heated assigned garage parking which is amazing in the winter and one of the selling points for me. They have a secure package room which keeps packages from being stolen. There's a pool and gym as well. There's 2 washers and 2 dryers in a laundry room on each floor. The nice thing about this is if there is ever an issue with one or people are using them, you can just go to the next floor. - APARTMENT: Big closet with lots of storage place. Bathroom well lit. Lots of kitchen storage. Reliable appliances. For apartments facing the light rail, the sun is amazing. I have never had happier house plants than I did when living here (see below). It also helps your mood in winters to get lots of natural light. Most apartments have a spacious deck which I used a ton. It's big enough to have plants/a small garden on it. I also had a patio chair and table and loved sitting out there and studying when the weather was nice. Because it has a screen door, you get a ton of natural light because your whole wall is a big window. - UTILITIES: I don't think I ever turned on heating when I lived here because the apartments around me kept my apartment pretty warm. Additionally, in the summer you can get away without the AC on many days. This is in part because the deck means there's a sliding door with a screen which allowed a lot of fresh air. Additionally, a large tree provided shade in the afternoon. When I did have to turn on AC, my electric bills were pretty minimal since it's not a huge space to cool. - COMMUNITY: most people in the building are professionals or graduate students going to school nearby. There were not many if any younger college kids. Because it's all studios, there weren't large families or lots of kids and thus the building was very quiet. - STAFF: I interacted with many staff in four years, and they were all responsive and very reasonable. Zach and Sydney were especially great!"
