"Super unprofessional; took months for maintenance to fix a shower that wasn’t draining and even received a notice saying it had been serviced months before it actually was. When it was serviced, they entered without a notice and did not leave a written note to explain why they were there. Super creepy to walk in and notice that things have been moved around my home without explanation before I realized that it was maintenance because they had FINALLY addressed the request months after I had submitted it. Maintenance also showed up one day without a 24 hour notice and claimed that they thought my unit was empty (I had requested a move-out notice a month prior but still had a little less than 30 days before i was supposed to vacate). THANKFULLY I was there when they showed up but that was by complete coincidence, I was supposed to be at work that day. Everyone is very uncouth, ESPECIALLY the people who answer phones"

"Very ok landlords. If you badger them long enough to do something, they may eventually do it. Overall bad at communicating (e.g., found out our kitchen tile was being redone and we would have no access to the kitchen for a week when the tile guys showed up at our door). Hard to say whether this is attributable to Urban Enterprises or the owner of our rental property (Humboldt Ave), but they do seem determined to run a fantastic old house into the ground and extract every last penny from it (e.g. garage is literally falling down, boards are falling off the house from rotting, and the only repair being done is painting over the exterior to cover it up). In the winter of 2021/22, the gas boiler in the house went out more than a dozen times, and the repair attempts were often not within the required time frame by housing code. Only after calling a city housing inspector were we given the mandated electric space heaters and were serious repair attempts made. The communication throughout the heating troubles was also terrible, leaving us without heat for many days over the winter and without any idea what steps were being taken to fix it. Other than that, they were at least responsive to any small repairs we requested and we did get our deposit back. Be warned that the Humboldt Ave property has extremely poor insulation and old windows, so depending on the price of gas the heating bills may be several hundred dollars per unit."

"If only I could give 0 stars. STAY AWAY! Stephen Bartley is a joke. The whole company is a joke. We rented a house for 3 and a half years. Cleaned and patched the walls before we left. Patch work was actually done by someone who renovate homes. They stated it was done incorrectly and that the whole house had to be painted. It was done correctly and the house should have been painted anyways. They charged us 750 bucks for something they should have done. Only a slumlord wouldn't paint all the rooms of a rental property after 42 months of use and not get it ready for the next tenant. I also requested a repair the last month of living in this home and it was never fixed. So we couldn't even use the second bathroom toilet. We signed with a different management company with our lease and the company was switched mid lease. If you don't want to get screwed like we did, AVOID AVOID AVOID!!!!! I also requested a walk through prior to leaving, since I was moving to Texas from Minneapolis, and they ignored our plea. We wanted to make sure we got as much of our deposit back as possible. Now I know why. If you rent a house from this company make sure you request lube and get it in the lease."

"I had an excellent experience working with Candace from Urban Enterprises for the last 10 years! Candace & her team managed my condo as a rental unit from 2006 - 2016. I live in CA and the property is in MN so I was very disconnected, having to rely solely on Candace's management and communication. Also, my property was quite old and had many leaks and random breakdowns over the years, from things as mild as a faucet dripping to as serious as the boiler shutting down in the middle of winter. Urban Enterprises was truly incredible throughout. They stayed on top of issues and got things handled immediately, from the minor to the major. Communication was clear and prompt and I felt very involved in the process, but felt that ultimately it was being handled. We also went through several tenants over the last 10 years and Candace always had my unit rented - we never went a month without a renter. Pretty fantastic. When I finally sold the unit last month, Candace communicated regularly with my realtor and tenants and everything went as smoothly as you could imagine. If you have a home or condo you need managed in Minneapolis, look no further. Candace and her team are fantastic and will help you go to bed at night knowing that your property is well taken care of!"

"I contacted Urban Enterprises one year ago to find a good renter for my condominium and manage the property because I took a job a moved to California. Urban Rent found a wonderful renter for my unit. When questions or issues come up they are on top of it. I don't have to worry about my property from hundreds of miles away. My renter has taken good care of my property (I stopped over to check on it a couple of months ago) and they signed another lease! Hire Urban Enterprises to handle all of our rental needs. They are a smaller business that will give your property the attention it deserves. They are really nice people and are knowledgeable."
