"I have had the pleasure of residing at this luxury apartment complex for several months now, and it has truly been an unparalleled living experience. First and foremost, the panoramic views of downtown from my apartment are nothing short of breathtaking. Waking up to the skyline every morning and watching the city lights twinkle at night has added a touch of serenity and grandeur to my daily life that I deeply cherish. The staff here deserves special commendation for their sincerity and knowledge. From the moment I expressed interest in the property to my move-in day and beyond, they have consistently demonstrated professionalism and attentiveness. Their genuine concern for resident satisfaction is palpable, making every interaction a pleasant and reassuring experience. Furthermore, the amenities offered here are simply top-notch. Whether it's the state-of-the-art fitness center equipped with modern machinery, the meticulously maintained swimming pool, or the elegantly designed communal spaces perfect for both relaxation and socialization, every aspect of the complex exudes luxury and sophistication. Additionally, the attention to detail in the design and maintenance of both the interior and exterior spaces is commendable. "Let me first start off by saying this is an amazing building with the best management team I’ve worked with after living in 4-6 different apartments in downtown Minneapolis area. The amenities are amazing including a basketball court, pickleball court, sauna, 2-story gym, theater, multiple community lounges for large parties, and one of the largest outdoor hot tubs! Since I’ve moved in, they seem to be very kept. Every morning I wake up, there’s hired professional cleaners maintaining the building and they are doing an amazing job! The management team is also very communicative and friendly. I’m grateful for how responsive they are. Initially prior to becoming a resident, it was a bit slow - I’m assuming construction - but it’s changed after becoming a resident. There are several things I believe that could make the experience here better which is why I knocked down one star. While the amenities are top notch, the resident experience has some areas of improvement that I hope they consider modifying: 1. It’s not as dog-friendly as I thought it would be. There is a dog spa and grooming area - both of which are in the same small room located in the garage. Outside the building, there are two trash bins for dog clean ups with provided bags that are never refilled. There is no designated dog relief area which I think would be amazing to have here considering how many dogs there are here :) Additionally, I think a dog run would be even better if it’s possible. There’s really no off-leash dog park nearby unfortunately. 2. The elevators are EXTREMELY slow. While there’s only 7 floors, it’s faster using the stairs if there’s multiple stops being made in the elevator. The majority of other residents agree with how slow they are. It could be minutes standing and waiting for the elevator to arrive and then 20-30 seconds for each stop as the doors open/close slowly and the elevator cabs takes off and slows down very slowly as well. 3. ButterflyMX system/front door access. This was the biggest con for me. Unfortunately, the main door locks for everyone after 6pm daily. This can be inconvenient when you have food deliveries, package deliveries, or guests over and defeats the purpose of a ButterflyMX system. I think at the very least, the main door can be unlocked and allow everyone to be in the foyer area where they can access the ButterflyMX system but not the building/lobby. I’ve lived in “worse” areas in downtown and I’ve never seen a building that locks both doors to prevent people from entering. It seems excessive to me. In addition to that, the door in the lobby to the elevators is locked as well and there is no ButterflyMX system, so residents have to come pick up their guests regardless. Overall, it would be better to see the main sidewalk door unlocked to an extended time (10-11pm) or later on weekends to accommodate residents with their packages, food deliveries, and guests. Nearby street parking is all free. I park on the street and never had issues. I’ve learned to always keep my car empty/clean and having tinted windows can help. I don’t think this is the apartment building’s responsibility, however, I do think it would be helpful to send out a notice to residents and remind them of how to protect/lock their cars. I’ve seen other apartments do this and it’s a kind gesture to do in my opinion. Overall, I LOVE this building and my experience so far. The 3 things I outlined above are simply my only “negative” things about this place so far where I think can easily be improved in some way, shape, or form. I’m looking forward to the rest of my lease year and I’m hoping to renew it depending on the direction of management :)"
"I am getting ready to move to The Laker soon and the process has been so smooth and easy. The building is so beautiful and has so many great amenties. They answered all my questions and have been so wonderful with communication. So far 10/10 experience."
"Our experience at the Laker Apartments has been outstanding. The leasing team is amazing- Jessica Staples helped with tours. She was so patient as we toured multiple apartments, then walked us through the lease process. Another leasing consultant, Jessi Scott, helped during move in by scheduling and arranging for convenient parking for unload. Andrew, the Property manager, is also very helpful. This management team is amazing-always available to take your calls, answer questions, and help in any way possible. The building is brand new, well maintained , and has great amenities. 5 stars."
