Vue Apartments

"I do not recommend living here. I lived at Vue Apartments for nearly 3 years. During that time, I suffered through a fire, an assault by another tenant and 4 building managers. It has significantly gone downhill between the day I moved in and the day I moved out. There is a reason that there are currently 20 units available in the building. Vue does not feel like a home because Weidner shows a lack of caring and respect for their tenants. Should you choose to tour this apartment building, make note of the following: Lobby - the floors are deeply scratched, the water fountain is dirty, and all the carpet inside has not been replaced since Vue opened more than a decade ago. Many tenants allow their dogs to go to the bathroom in the common areas inside and do not clean up after their pets. Landscaping - Take note of the landscaping outside, or lack thereof. It's been the same for more than 4 years. Elevator - Do not ride the left elevator. If you have more than two people in it at the same time it will fall (several floors) and get stuck between floors. This was true for the entire time I lived at Vue and the situation was never rectified. It's really scary to experience this! Security – Vue is not secure. There are surveillance cameras everywhere, but without sound, these are useless. Anyone can enter the Vue by several unsecured entryways. The back gate does not close and lock. Homeless people sleep in the kitchen in the lobby, and I was startled several times by these people jumping up from behind the kitchen counter when I went down to get coffee in the morning. One time, the man was wearing a wig, which really scared me. There isn’t a secure package room, so my packages were sometimes stolen and my newspaper was taken more often than I received it. Parking Garage (level -2) – Be sure to visit this part of the building. The garage is filled with a greasy, grimy substance that covers the floor, tracks into apartment units and also covers the cars. Several tenants who have left the Vue also left their belongings behind in the garage and they’re sitting there covered with grime. Vue maintenance collects all the old refrigerators, stoves, microwaves, barbecue grills, etc right in the center of the back of the garage. It’s a mess. Storage - See my notes under parking garage. There is storage offered for a cost in the garage. Everything in these units gets ruined because of the grease and grime that coats everything. Barbecue Grills on 6th floor balconies – There is a gas grill on every balcony on the 6th floor. These do not pull far enough from the wall to be safe. They are dangerous, a fire hazard, and should be removed by Vue management. Back Courtyard – The grills don’t work in this area. Lights/lamps are broken, bent over or destroyed. Also, there was once a beautiful fountain out there, but it no longer works. Halo Party Room – The grills here were not cleaned the entire time I lived here. Lights outside don’t work, the fire pit doesn’t work and most times the pool cues or pool balls are missing. It’s also a very loud nuisance if you live on the 6th floor. People can climb over the balcony and right into Unit 606 if that unit isn’t locked. Dog Friendly – the building allows dogs, but two tenants on my floor never took their large (nearly 100 lb) dogs outside. They just allowed them to go to the bathroom on their balconies and the poor animals never saw the light of day. Unfortunately, I lived next to one of them, and the smell was unbearable. Worse was seeing the sadness of how that dog lived. When reported, management did nothing about it. Therefore, I don't think the Vue can call itself dog friendly. Noise Nuisance - 430 Oak Grove (across the street) uses swamp coolers for their air conditioning. This is a huge noise nuisance. I could not work at home during the summer months, because the noise was so loud (even with my windows and doors closed) that I couldn't be on zoom meetings or make phone calls. For all these reasons, I do not recommend the Vue as a place to call home."

"Lived at the Vue for 2 years and loved it. It is in the perfect location between downtown and uptown, as both are within walking distance. The common areas were always very well kept. Only had 2 minor maintenance issues come up and both were resolved on the very same day."

"We have lived at the Vue for 2+ years now and have loved the location, our unit, the gym and lounge areas, the coffee machine and of course the weekend breakfast treats! Our apartment manager Josh has always been incredibly welcoming, helpful, understanding, and accommodating. When we recently wanted to host our wedding rehearsal dinner on the rooftop, Josh went above and beyond to make sure everything ran smoothly. Any time we have needed something, Josh has immediately done everything he can to help us. We are so grateful for him and his kindness has not gone unnoticed. Highly recommend!"

"I’ve been a resident at Vue for about 4 months now, and I’d just like to say that the management team here is superb! Thomas, Luis and Norm are very attentive, communicative and are genuinely friendly. Have things been perfect? No. We’ve had small issues with our apartment unit and there have been some admin mishaps here and there. HOWEVER, all it really takes is acknowledgement and communication and the team here at Vue has that down to a science. Our maintenance requests are acknowledged and completed within 24 hours, the building is always clean, the units are well insulated as we do not hear our neighbors at all (even the ones above us), the balcony sliding doors are sturdy and have good sound proofing, and the people are super friendly and respectful. Plus you can’t really beat the location. For the city, construction is minimal and I generally feel safe in the area. I’d HIGHLY recommend living at Vue."

"Luis was fantastic to work with. He was friendly, thorough, and flexible about everything. The apartments themselves are great. The features feel very luxurious. I love all the appliances in the kitchen and the washer and dryer and everything else in the apartment. I felt at home on day one of living here and have been very happy with this experience. I would recommend living here to anyone who wants to be downtown in a safe and fun area."
