"If I could give a negative rating I would. This complex, property manager is a joke. They lure you in with a bad remodel. Then when you leave on good terms they make excuses why you haven't gotten your deposit. How many times can it get lost in the mail. Then you get directed to the corporate office. Which is barely marked. Not a single person in this office. No one ansqers even the emergency maintwnance for days. YOU WILL GET RIPPED OFF! QT properties is a SCAM!"

"Worst company ever. Would not recommend. Would love to give a -5 star review. Me and my roommate moved in July of 2018. We applied online right away without even viewing the apartment because it is in such a convenient place, close to work, big, updated, and cheap. We called after we got accepted to view our apartment, and that was a hassle. Even getting someone to answer the phone to talk to us seemed like a inconvenience to them. We finally saw the apartment, looked ok. We moved in July 1st. We find that the apartment was infested with cockroaches. THEY LET US MOVE INTO A APARTMENT KNOWING THAT THE APARTMENT WAS THE NEST OF THE ROACHES AND THE APARTMENT BUILDING WAS INFESTED. They did not seem to be in any rush to help us out, or have any concern at all that we literally were living with roaches. We finally were able to have them bring the exterminator out, and the landlord Marissa didn’t not have any concern that she willingly let us move in knowing they were infested. Fast forward to midway threw the lease, we let them know we would not be living there anymore. People fighting spouses in the hallways, laundry and dryer NEVER work and are expensive. (2.75) for a wash (2.75) for a dry. It was such a hassle to even get a hold of anybody who worked for the company to give them our notice. The new landlord is barely ever in the office, gives attitude when you finally see him and ask anything. We finally are at the end of our lease (June 30th 2019) and everything is set. We expect our security deposit to come back in 21 days (that’s what the landlord said) we wait 22 days, I call and they say that because I did not give a forwarding address for the checks, (they did not ask for one) they sent it to our mailbox. TO THE APARTMENT WE DO NOT LIVE AT OR HAVE KEYS TO ANYMORE. We drive to the building and find the landlord, he brings us to our old mailbox, no checks. They sent the checks back to their accountant, and she does not even have them. THEY ARE IN THE MAIL FLOATING AROUND. A $1,100 CHECK JUST FLOATING AROUND, THEY ARE IN NO RUSH TO GET THEM TO US. After about 4 days of me calling every hour on the hour, and talking to the landlord a million times, the mail in on the way to their accountant, he will pick up the checks, and we will pick them up from him. WE FINALLY GET THE CHECKS AFTER A WEEK. I do not understand why you would not call us upon realizing that you do not have a forewarning address for us. We are so happy to be finally done with this company, everyone who works there, and everyone who lives there. WORST COMPANY TO RENT FROM."

"The trash area smells badly in the summer and there's often garbage everywhere. Neighbors smoke on their porches, even though it's said in the lease that this is not allowed, not a big deal in winter, but when you want your windows open, sometimes your whole apartment ends up smelling like smoke. One of my neighbors is doing pot, and the hallway constantly smells like weed. The walls/ceilings/floors are SUPER THIN. Not QT's fault, but just be warned. There are no assigned parking spots, and no on street parking so if your neighbors are having people over on the weekend, you may have to park in the Menards lot. The parking lot is often unplowed for days, and when it is plowed, there is no ice or sand laid down. My small car has a very hard time getting out of the uphill parking lot when it's icy. I've nearly fallen on the ice leading up to the sidewalk many times, and if you do fall and hurt yourself, it's not on QT legally, so be warned. Neighbors have started leaving their garbage bags outside their apartments (again, not allowed per the lease). The laundry cards used to operate the machines in the building are empty, and have been for months, so make sure they have more unless you want to bum off friends and relatives for laundry. This is a fine place for the price you're paying, but the management is rarely around. They don't seem very in touch with what's going on on their property. That might improve. The units themselves are renovated, it's on the cheaper end, but all the appliances work and there's no carpet which is a blessing. This was an OK place to live, if you need somewhere that's just fine. Most of these complaints are minor things. The apartment is clean and most of my neighbors quiet down before midnight."

"So QT Properties took over Skywood Apts sometime in 2016. Since then, they've been steadily making improvements. They have and continue to renovate the empty apartments. Don't get me wrong, QT still has a long way to go before they receive anything higher than 2 stars. They are fairly responsive when I make maintenance requests. But their follow-through needs some serious improvement. Case in point, the dumpsters area is in shambles. They say they're monitoring the dumpsters, but the piles of trash and rubbish around the property tell you that's a lie. Maury style. Also, there's a large dumpster reserved for construction crews doing renovations and residents have been instructed not to use it. I see residents throw trash in there on a daily basis, and to make matters worse, it has turned into a community dump. 1:30 AM and 3 men show up in a U-Haul truck, spend 30 minutes unloading trash from the U-Haul into the dumpster, making lots of noise. I call the police and QT. They had plenty of time to make it here to catch them. No one shows up. So, if you want a place that looks nice, but upon closer inspection, is just the bare minimum of the cheapest materials and appliances, then this is the complex for you! UPDATE: Mold in the unit. Painted over 3 times. Unacceptable. Moving out. Suing."

"Don't ever live here. Worst place I have ever lived. Everything the previous reviewer said still stands. They are like overpriced section 8 housing. Actually, I'm willing to bet most section 8 housing is better than these apartments. There are no security doors, so anybody can walk into the buildings at any time. Nobody cares about what their children are doing, so children run through the halls leaving trash, and making noise. The buildings are cheaply made, and horribly maintained. The walls are paper thin, so you can hear the conversations your neighbors are having. No onsite maintenance so good luck getting anything fixed. In fact I was told when I moved in "if it's something small, we'd appreciate it if you fixed it yourself...." I'm still waiting for things I complained about when I moved in many months ago to get replaced. Exposed circuit breakers in laundry rooms, so I've had my power shut off twice by children left unattended. Lack of handicap, and visitor parking. Laundry machines are awful. This place even looks trashy. So much so that I don't even let most people I know, know that I live in this dump. If you have to choose between living here, or on the street, take the street."
