Reviews of Sonder Point 50+ Apartments
"I moved in June 1, 2022. I renewed my lease electronically in 2023. I received a letter last week from the property management telling me my month to month lease has ended. The letter went on to say that I must sign a lease on February 29 if I want to continue to stay. My rent will go from $1234 to $1502. I went to the office assuming they must have sent the letter in error. Markita, the office manager, informed me that the lease I signed last year was invalid because it wasn't signed by them. How is that my fault. I have spoken to other tenants on fixed incomes that is facing the same issues. The electronic lease? Yes!! They have decided to charge market rent on this HUD approved section 8/section 42 housing apartment complex. Further, the letter said I have to vacate the unit by April 30 if I do not sign the lease. I didn't sign a new lease. I will vacate at the end of May per the original lease agreement."
"This place is a terrible business I applied for this place last year and the women in the office ran off with my deposit the only way I got it back was to track her down on fb and threaten her with the police . I then tried it again in August 29th and I am now still waiting for my deposit back as they denied my application which is fine but they are still holding my deposit until this day October 23. I wouldn't want to live here . Bc they are taking advantage of the elderly. Return my refund now. 0 stars from me."
"If I could I would give them a zero. The communication is very poor. We put in an application on Aug 11th stating that our desired move in date was Aug 31st( that is the end of our current lease) it is now the 23rd and we never heard anything back there were 3 emails sent asking about the status of the application on the 15th and 16th and the 20th and there were also multiple calls made no one answered but a secretary who said they would relay the message ( we never heard anything back) we finally decided to physically go up to the office today on the 23rd and they said we were denied on the 18th which is totally fine that’s not the issue but the fact that we had kept calling and emailing and no one was going to respond and tell us until we actually took time out of our day to do something we shouldn’t have had to do is really inconsiderate of other people and their time. The office staff are also very unprofessional and don’t really know how to correctly do their jobs. When we even had a tour scheduled for 11 we were seen 40 min after our scheduled time because they had a “meeting” which was not communicated either."
"Good Morning, I've reviewed all comment/reviews. it seems that this company is handing out cooperate phone number which does not even work. I have contacted the State of MN attorney office for assistance in the matter of my mother and father being taken advantage of. they pay their September rent and was told they didn't and the company would not accept their November payment. if they didn't pay September rent, why did the company accepted October payment? additionally, why are the senior citizen being held responsible for the company mistake? the resident of this community did not hire the property manager who allegedly stole their rent money and deposits? this is nonsense and the state of MN attorney general office needs to interfere with this issue. I will also be filing a complain with CFPB and BBB. Please reach out to us with a VALID phone number."
"After several attempts to resolve, significant issues through written communications to property manager. Each time property manager has failed to even acknowledge or address these major concerns Furthermore I have tried to inquire whom I may contact to have these matters resolved corporately. Never have I received a contact name or email to follow proper channels to have each of these significant concerns addressed. Unfortunately, I have determined writing a review may be my only hope to receive the appropriate assistance to resolve each of these alarming occurrences. At the time of leaving my initial deposit to secure the apartment unit I requested, I was told the unit which I selected would be mine pending my application approval. I received approval. When I came in to sign my lease agreement I was to receive my 3 months of free rent with a 12 month lease. Friday afternoon near the end of April my lease was signed. Receiving my apt. key, mail key. I was looking forward to move in. The following sequence of events occurred in order. I did not get the apartment agreed upon. See my new home was to face the backside of building facing the neighborhood and not next to the trash dispencery, next to the main elevator, which the leasing agent was clearly instructed by mysef not to face a noisy parking lot a majority of evenings. Sadly I needed to move in that weekend. I rented a garage space underground. Till this day I have never received my garage door opener to access the underground parking. Yes I have inquired more then once why I did not receive one at time of lease signing. I was told the party responsible in furnishing them was a little slow in delivery of them. 5 months seriously! Well then a week later after my move in. I was tired of getting out of my vehicle each time to open garage access door.to open garage door to drive my vehicle to its assigned parking slot. I decided one evening to park my vehicle in the general parking area. My parking sticker was displayed exactly as instructed by property manager. A couple hours after parking my vehicle I wanted to grab a few things from my vehicle to bring to my apartment. Well was I in for a complete surprise, my vehicle was gone.. Thankfully it wasn't stolen just towed by the towing service wrongfully I expressed my complete dismay to him. Stating my vehicle has the proper credentials displayed were instructed he stated if that was the case he would bring it back to the exact spot.I was relieved. The next morning no vehicle I contacted the after hours phone no for property leaving a message with the answering service twice. .Both times I was instructed the property manager would be contacted. 4 hours later never receiving a call I went to the office were the property manager stated I would need to contact the towing service to work it out with them. I was completely lost for words. Here I'm a tennant,.a client. She could care less. Only stating my parking pass was for garage parking not general parking. What I'm to pay additional charge monthly. I'm a tennant I can't park in general parking. When I contacted the towing service they informed me that they were instructed by the property manager to tow vehicles with a garage parking sticker that parked in the general parkin area. Now this simply is not right. Especially since I have no access easily into the garage. $405 00 cost to me. The property manager could care less about clients. Lastly once May passed its has become a real nightmare. I started receiving first late fees that I haven't payed rent for June. What happened to my. 3 months of no rent with my 12 month lease. Yes I have tried to visit with the manager, write the manager twice no response not even acknowledgement of my 13 page letter. Lastly 3 violation in my rental file that a female dog I'm caring for temporarily, deficates, with me failing to properly dipose of the animal's feces. Well a women accused me not knowing a female dog squats when urinating. What to do?. Help! Non payment of rent What would you do?"
