"I wanted to give the apartment complex where I live five stars...I really wanted to and I tried. But I take pride in being an honest reviewer and I just couldn't do it. Why? Because of a slightly suspect little note that was very unsurreptiously placed all over the coffee room downstairs, practically insinuating that this must be the best place to live in the world. This note demanded that you give this complex five stars or maybe, just maybe, your lease status would be on the line. I can read between the lines; they're trying to weed people out. I wasn't born yesterday. I do appreciate the free food shelf that comes here every month. I like the free tea and coffee. I just can't escape the feeling that I have to look over my shoulder every second. At least the thick foliage around the creek was chopped all the way down so any potential drug deals or shootings can be prevented. There are just not enough incentives to warrant moving in here. Like most buildings who accept Section 8, they are non-caring and condescending. As well as a general unsafe feeling. There just needs to be a lot of changes made."

"There’s nothing but negative things to say about this place. First off this is an elderly apartment building and the building is falling apart, my grandmother’s bathroom is constantly having maintenance issues from the ceiling leaking on multiple occasions to the toilet or tub drainage having issues. There’s even been black mold in the bathroom. They pay a water fee and have had their water turned off on multiple occasions with notices saying it’s being fixed and these elderly ppl have to fill up buckets and pots to have water throughout the day. As I write this my grandmother is still waiting for her closet doors to be fix because they fell off the henges. She’s been here almost a decade under these living conditions and because she has a fixed income and section 8 she doesn’t have many options I just think it’s sad how these elders have to put up with this. I’m finally taking the time to write a review today because to top it all off as I walked the dog today the manager came out telling me the dog can’t use the bathroom til I’m behind the garage, which is a good 5-7 min walk. When I said how do I stop him she said walk faster. I’m 33 weeks pregnant and my grandma has two hip replacements. I’ve seen another lady in a wheelchair with her dog and I just don’t understand the stipulations when it comes to her demand like how dare you tell someone to walk faster but I guess it goes to show that management cares more about the appearance on the outside then they do on everything else falling apart on the inside. It’s really a shame."
"I just saw a TicTok post about the 10 most dangerous places to live in the cities. Brooklyn Park was one of them. I have not experienced any problems here. It's a very secure building and everyone looks out for each other. I've lived here for 3 years now. The staff is amazing. Everyone I've met is so friendly. I even chat with the mailman. Pat. He's great! I was very nervous moving in at first but that subsided within a couple days. In the winters the sidewalks are always salted and plowed. The parking lot is plowed in a reasonable time. In summer, the lawn and grounds look great. The caretaker "Doc" is always cleaning and busy making our lives a better place. You can tell the staff really cares about the property and our safety! Our Manager "Lu Ann" is so involved and constantly trying to get the community involved in fun activities so we can bond as a community. She does an amazing job as manager. I feel safe here and that's important to me. The building is decorated for holidays. They offer community classes. Gardening club, National Night out, trips to Cub and Walmart, lunches and dinners out, fishing day, game night, bingo, card games, coffee time, brunches, etc.. when the activity it out and about they provide a Lang Nelson bus to cart us around. I started teaching a crafts class shortly after I moved it. So fun! I would totally recommend this place to anyone over 50."
"They're not deserving of this one star but I couldn't write the review without it. This building that belongs to Lang Nelson has the only place you can reside where the police are called on you and they never knock on your door and tell you why they're paying you a visit. Don't rent from these people especially if you got Section 8 because Sheryl will make it her personal business to help you lose it. She's more worried about quiet time than cleaning the parking lot"
