"If you love your pet or your children, please don't live here. The grounds were littered with broken glass, wood, nails, etc. The grounds keepers throw old furniture off the balconies instead of moving them out by hand, so there are always broken furniture pieces. Furthermore, my neighbors would throw jars of food of their balcony onto the walkways, which meant that any time I walked my dog, I would have to stop them from trying to eat broken glass covered in food. If your pet doesn't wind up at urgent care from lacerations on their feet or in their mouths, they might from eating the plethora of poisonous plants that are around the grounds. Being inside the building isn't any better. They are suffering from a cockroach infestation, and a large amount of mold caused by severe water seepage in the foundation. During my time living there, I was sick with respiratory infections nearly every month. I know it was from the deplorable living conditions because I haven't gotten sick since moving out. Management doesn't care about safe living conditions. I went into the laundry room one day and it was covered in blood which was splattered on the machines, floor and walls, but when I called the office, they didn't care and it wasn't cleaned up for days. My apartment's deck had a railing that was barely attached to the building and which pulled off the building any time pressure was put on it. Some of the boards on the floor of the deck were not nailed into support beams, so they would break off if we stepped on them. The remainder of the floor beams had rusty nails sticking out 2". They told us they were in the works of fixing them for years, but nothing ever improved. Here is the worst part- I left Stratford due to the impact on my health and safety, but their malpractices are still following me. When I broke my lease, they wanted a huge amount of money. I asked for a payment plan and their reply was "We don't offer payment plans. Why don't you just go get some food stamps so you can pay it?" I paid the fee and put the horrible experience behind me. However, recently in the mail I got a letter than claims I didn't pay the fee and since months and months have passed, they have been charging interest. Thousands of dollars of interest. But it's okay BECAUSE THEY OFFER A PAYMENT PLAN. Do not live here. They will steal your health, steal your money, hurt your babies, and then harass you years after you leave. If you do live here, document everything, save receipts, because they will go after you years later with hopes that you don't have evidence against what they are claiming. I have photo evidence and emails backing up all of my claims, but I know some neighbors who didn't."

"I lived here 1.5 years and if it wasn’t for my sons school I would have picked somewhere else. They closed the sauna with out any notice. Just one day I went to sit in it and it was bolted shut and taken down. So sad! The neighbors were absolutely horrendous-loud music at all times of night, letting their dogs poop/pee everywhere inside, maintenance couldn’t keep up. Most hallways smelled like weed. My first apartment I had with them made me physically ill due to the weed smell and I had to keep separate clothes at work to change in to as my clothing reeked of weed….from a neighbors apartment. I could have lost my job if my work suspected me of smoking weed. Laundry machines were filthy-I started paying for tide to wash my clothes at the end as it made me so uncomfortable-an expense I couldn’t afford but didn’t want to use gross laundry machines either. They redid the laundry room which basically meant new flooring and paint, the same moldy laundry machines were still there afterwards. The staff was great but there was only so much they could do. I just wish neighbors in communities like this were more respectful and treated it like their home (as that is what it is). I also suspect that whoever cleaned the hallways and floors (and did the cleaning flip for apartments) doesn’t understand how to clean properly. So much cleaning product was used, y’all only need a small cap full for mopping."

"I have lived here for two years now and this place has only gotten worse throughout that time. To begin - the amenities are rarely available. I don’t think the pool has been open for more than a couple months throughout my time here due to “missing parts”. The locking system on the gym/game room was smashed in by kids and closed for weeks. It has also just broke multiple times. The gym hours have been reduced multiple times because kids are trashing it and they have no staff to supervise. There are holes in the walls throughout the gym and hallways. The laundry machines flood at least once a month and laundry is now raised to $2.00. The last 3 months or so they have had mandatory bug sprays with little notice to prepare or find daycare. These sprays are due to a “cockroach infestation” to quote staff. The police and fire department are here weekly as well. Staff does not answer the phone in regard to these concerns and no progress has been made after many requests. There are often loud neighbors upstairs running throughout the halls all through the night. The grounds and building often smell like weed. The list goes on and on. Do not live here Called after response and no answer per usual"

"There has been so much improvement in the last couple years since our manager Jennifer has come aboard!! I have lived In this complex for almost 10 years. I have seen many come and many go.. She is here for the long run to make it a better place for everyone. She has put in a lot of time and effort to fix the things that are within her means.. She is very pleasant to speak to, She is extremely kind. And her heart is in it here at Stratfordwood to make it the best she can! I have personally seen the work that she has done.. And I commend her on so many levels. She does not get the credit that she deserves.!! Continue to Work Jennifer!! We need you here! And want you here!!"

"I have lived here about nine months and wish I would have had some insight to what I was moving into. I travel for work often and when I’m home, it’s nothing short of a nightmare… Christmas Eve I had to call the police due to a crazy woman running down the halls screaming because she was upset and smashing on doors, which I am now subpoenaed to court as a witness. They were both arrested upon the police arrival. Unfortunately, that was not the last time I saw the police here. In the days following, someone moved in above me and has been nothing but chaos since they moved in, stomping around all hours of the night and smoking weed/cigars on their patio… repeatedly reached out to management with no positive outcome. Thankfully, I am moving out in the upcoming months, but I highly recommend looking furthermore before moving in. Those examples are my direct impact living here but the indirect follows in as such: patios used for storage and garbage, yelling in the parking lot, aggressive dogs, hallways stained and filthy due to people not bagging their trash well, the laundry facility is a gross mess and weekly police visits. Thankfully, I travel a lot and am not here full time but a big mistake on my part moving in."
