"Initially, we really enjoyed living at Prairie Village Apartments in Waconia, but soon realized the reality behind this place. They have done the bare minimum to update anything. My boyfriend and I had constant sickness while living there, we are sure it's from the mold behind the walls. We had water leak from our ceiling and we lived on the top floor. All they did was told us to poke a hole in it so it could "dry it out" and then they painted over it. Our kitchen sink must have been leaking for a long time because the board has warped and there was A LOT of black mold. Asked for it to be fixed before we moved out and it never was. We are not the only ones that can vouch for the illnesses this place havocs. As soon as we moved into our now current home, our symptoms instantly resided. We didn't have hot water for almost a month due to "being at the mercy of the plumbing company". Our dishwasher broke not even a month into living there and was never fixed as we were told it wasn't part of the rent. The management and owner are money hungry, rude, and selfish and there are many other places much nicer and suitable for living at the rate they charge."
"I rented at this apartment complex for 1 year and it was the worst experience. The biggest issue was the pipes in our ceiling would leak. It was so bad it produced a puddle in the light fixture (fire hazard much?). They never replaced the carpet only allowed it to dry. They never had a professional plumber come in, only had their maintenance men put hose clamps on the pipes. Then I discovered the mold. Behind the baseboard, on the ceiling, and other random spots. We would get night sweats at night and they went away after moving out of this dump. As far as the mold, all the maintenance guy, Steve, did was paint over it. I asked for them to get a specialist in to address the mold issue and Janice (manager) told me I would have to pay for it out of pocket. The whole building smells like cigarette smoke and Janice was as condescending and rude as they come. Not worth the money, nor your health to live here based on my poor experience."
"My partner and I have lived at Prairie Village for two years. We have found the management team to be a great experience for us. Janice is a wonderful manager and you will find her to be available and a positive presence in the community. Steve and the crew were responsive and professional, taking quick care of maintenance needs and surrounding grounds."
"Just moved out of here. Lived there 4 years. Worst 4 years ever! The reason they are cheap is because the bathroom fixtures are from 1970, the rest of the carpet, counters ans cupboards are from 1980. Nothing at all updated, everything worn out. The playground is very unsafe! The "sand " around the playground is full of weeds ans stickers ale season long. They never take care of it! Have had several water issues! 2 years into living there I was told the reason the person before me moved was because there was a flood above me and it was running down my walls. We are positive there are HUGE mold issues there! I have plenty of pics to prove that. It's what behind the walls that I worry about! We, all 4 of us, were always sick!! They are greedy beyond greedy! I was charged 5 bucks per slat for the blind in my room. 75 bucks! Yet on the replacement cost sheet it says 55 to replace the whole blind! So wait.. instead of replacing the whole thing for less you went with the bigger charge.. ok! They told me the rest wasn't broke so wht replace it? Wow! STAY FAR AWAY FROM HERE. Your health and sanity depend on it! if you need proof I have the photos! Oh 1 more thing.. unless you are on the main floor, ans can use your patio door to escape, you only have 1 way out during the winter and that's the main door. There is another door on the other end but they never shovel it out or shovel a path and it's ALWAYS frozen shut. Again for your safety avoid this place!"
"I'm living here now. There's fungus growing on the toilet...that's the standard. The air conditioner doesn't work + well we wanted to save you money. The faucet to the kitchen sink was leaking. (This is the first day I am here) The dishwasher worked twice then flooded. They tried to blame that on me. The fridge leaked water from the freezer in puddles of 2 inches every 20 minutes. They tried to say it was from me leaving the door open. Turns out there was old moldy food in the freezer blocking it so it would leak water instead of cool the fridge properly. They even said about the faucet..."Well we don't like to repair that"...and for the AC "Yeah we wanted to wait until next spring to get the new ones in". And the place smells of mildew. I got a weird tingling cough and now literally today have an ear infection which could be related as I read to the mold behind the walls. It's a horrid place."
