Reviews of Woodrow Apartments
"ENCLAVE kept most of our security deposit. We received a check for $239.50 after our 3 month lease. They charged a carpet cleaning flat fee of $100 for a measly piece of traffic area of a studio apartment. Carpeted area was probably 10x10 with a queen bed, huge dresser and 2 nightstands. We cleaned before we left; scrubbed down the bathroom, tiles and sink; sanitized floors, counter tops, drawers, furniture and appliances. We had no kids or pets. Don't smoke, drink nor did we have guests. Management sent us exit photos with no bad feedback. In short, we left it the way it was the first day we occupied it. So I am not sure why they charged us $160.50 for cleaning. We left mid-month after our 13-week contract with the hospital but told us to pay for the entire month, meaning they kept another $750+. After several back and forth with them, to no avail. She even asked me to meet with her thinking we would meet halfway. Just wasted my time. Beware of this horrible management. It was nice to try to live in a different state. Sadly, this left us with a bad experience of Fargo, ND. Not coming back."
"Living at Woodrow Apartments has been a never-ending nightmare due to the constant turnover of untrustworthy and inept management companies. The deception started with Kilbourne Group, the previous owners, who made false promises about the building's future. Then, out-of-state investors, Greystoke, took over without any warning to the residents. Greystoke's management style led to a series of failures, with incompetent managers shifting blame onto the residents for their mistakes. The lack of a working call box/directory and unresolved issues caused inconvenience and frustration for residents. Madrona Pacific Properties worsened the once beautiful community through misguided actions, including public shaming in building-wide communications. Unethical behavior from the managers only fueled residents' discontent. In July 2023, Enclave Management Company took over, and I hoped for a fresh start, but it was short-lived. Promises, big and small, continue to be broken, and professionalism is lacking around 50% of the time. Residents are held to strict standards, facing heavy fees and unethical move-out practices. The management's insincere apologies offer no real resolution, adding to our frustration. Greystoke investors prioritized their interests over tenants' well-being, with rent being nearly 80% to 100% above the Fargo average per sq. ft. (Per RentCafe) Communication with investors led to gaslighting and empty statements. Fake 5-star reviews were posted to suppress genuine criticism from residents fearing retaliation. In conclusion, trust is impossible to have in anyone associated with running Woodrow Apartments. Mistrust, unfulfilled promises, and unprofessionalism create a toxic living environment. Prepare for constant stress and disappointment. Document every interaction, as their word is far from their bond."
"Dear neighbors, We are writing to you today to call for action. We have had enough of the rude and disrespectful behavior of our building’s owner and property management company. We are tired of being treated like second-class citizens in our own homes. We would like you to join 22 of your neighbors for a rent strike, a peaceful but powerful way to send a message to our landlord and property management company. We ask that all tenants join us in withholding our rent payments until our demands are met. Our demands are simple: respectful and courteous treatment from our landlord and property management company. We know that taking this step is not easy. It requires courage, solidarity, and sacrifice. But we believe that together we can make a difference. We ask that you stand with us and support our rent strike, whether by withholding your rent payment or by sharing your stories of mistreatment. Remember, we have the power to create change. Let us use that power to demand the respectful and courteous treatment that we deserve. In solidarity, Woodrow Tenant Association"
"I have lived here for several months now, and have absolutely fell in love with this place! The apartment it’s self has that historic charm with all the brick and wood features. My apartment layout is just perfect for me, I couldn’t have asked for a better layout. The court yard has been great to relaxed with friends, and just enjoy the outside! The manager Shawn has just been so helpful, and is always so happy and positive, the guy always has a smile on his face! I am a leaving a 5 star review because the whole package here is just excellent! From my apartment, to the community, to the staff, this is a place I call home, and am proud of it! I would definitely recommend Woodrow for any one looking for apartment! You could not ask for a better experience with an apartment community!!"
"Nice layout of the apartments but significantly overpriced for what you get. Since they did not plan the building correctly there is limited parking and this is been strained by building a preschool on the property. - So typically if you come back to the apartment > 8PM there are no lot spots and typically illegal to park on the back street SO they have you park in a shady dirt lot across the street . They did not plan this well but this should happen in a upper end rent - Poor HVAC in the units, seems to be very hot in the winter even without heat on - No garage parking and even people parking illegally in the handicapped spot since parking so bad - If going to spend the money best look elsewhere or even buying a house for the cost of rent here **** FYI THEY DONT SNOW REMOVE. SNOW ON CENTER SIDE WALK AND RAMP SO ITS IMPOSSIBLE TO LEAVE THE GARAGE AND CANT EVEN USE THE CENTER SIDEWALK***** Good aspects -Nice large closets and layout of the apartment -My lab seems to love it here and there are lots of dogs for her to play with"
