"I’ve been living here for nearly 2.5 years and initially I had no issues. However, recently the quality had been seriously deteriorating. Work orders take an excessively long time to complete (weeks and/or month at times) and, even worse, the security is a MAJOR issue. In the last six months or so, we’ve had our garage broken into twice (losing about $800 in belongings), had mail stolen, and (most recently) 6 cars were completely smashed (windows, frames, and more) in the underground parking which is supposed to be secure. There are no security cameras to monitor this stuff so that certainly doesn’t help this at all. All in all, while I liked this place at first, I would steer people away now. This place has gone way downhill in the last year and I am so happy I’m about to get out of here in a couple months."
"The management is in professional it’s all about the money. They fail to live up to their contractual obligations, they let people park in front of other people’s garages, and when emergency maintenance is called the maintenance guy tries anything to get out of doing the job. If they don’t want to do a job don’t take it. I am at my wits end with them. If their practices don’t improve I will withhold rent for breach of contract."
"Initially I left a negative review. Stephanie called me right away and addressed EVERY single issue I had! She went out of her way to make sure I am happy. I can see how much she cares. Dominick is always there when I need something as well and makes it feel like we've known each other forever. I absolutely love living at west lake and do not have one bad word to say anymore! "Great place. Some of the best prices in town. Clean, quiet, near the edge of town. Maintenance is quick to respond. Best apartments I have lived in. No complaints. Not sure if the owner will read see this, but I'll put here in case. At one point I considered moving to another unit in the building. I put down a 300 dollar deposit. I later chose to remain in the unit I was currently at. I requested my deposit back and they would not return my deposit. IS there any thing that can be done about getting my deposit returned?"
"The hallways, stairways, and elevators smell like weed every single day; and management doesn't seem to care one bit. Our seven year old daughter is forced to walk through the smell of weed every day. We stayed here for Christmas Eve and Christmas morning, and the smell was so strong we had to hold our breath on the way down the stairs. Nobody, especially a little kid, should not have to be exposed to drug use; but nobody we talk to seems to care. We live in a corner room and our master bed and bath (on the external wall of the building) wreak of weed on a regular basis, and when we contacted the office, they told us the people under us wouldn't be the ones doing it. It's as if they were saying they don't have to figure it out because it's not who we thought it was. Our handbook clearly states that any violation of the Drug-free and Crime-free housing policy will result in a material violation of the lease and will be good cause for immediate termination of the tenancy. They should at least have signs up warning that there will be no second chances when caught; at least show us good tenants that they're making an effort. Keep in mind, we pay a lot of money for our apartment. You'd think we would at least be able to leave the building without walking through that horrible smell. It's a horrible place to live, with management that is either clueless, lazy, or just doesn't care. Save yourself the hassle and DO NOT RENT FROM GOLDMARK. I have never filled out a review for anything online, but this has gotten so ridiculous that I felt like I owe it to anyone looking to move in here; I wish someone would've warned us."
