"This is the most honest review you'll see on this place. I lived here just shy of 3 years and overall it's a decent place to live. They lose one star for the overall lack of amenities and features. It's a good complex, just not a 5-star complex. They lose another star for the way they handle issues and disputes, which is probably like any apartment complex unfortunately. Cons: Poor communication, handling of disputes & issues on the part of management. They will not communicate options or alternatives to you and will blame it on you for not asking about options you didn't know existed. My unit reeked of cigarette smoke when I moved in. There are a lot of smokers that live here and smoke on the property (prohibited). Dog waste litters the property. Not enforced. Building doors often break and go unrepaired for months. Proximity to the interstate & train tracks (very loud). Gym is small and doesn't have much equipment, equipment often breaks and goes unrepaired for weeks. No real good outdoor space. If your unit doesn't have a balcony, you're out of luck. Lack of common space & entertainment space. They have a windowless "club room" that is pretty much 4 or 5 tables. Nothing fancy. Appliances are average. They work well, but again, nothing fancy. Flooring, countertops, tubs, etc. also average. Functional, but nothing super fancy or modern looking. I had two really big issues with this property, which were (unsurprisingly) when I moved IN and when I moved OUT. Moving in, the previous tenant smoked cigarettes INSIDE the apartment (not allowed). Property management knew this and believed they fixed it, but never actually came back to check before I got there. My unit smelled badly cigarettes. They admitted the previous tenant left it trashed but it wasn't until the property manager came that I overheard the maintenance guy say "you KNOW how many cigarette butts we found on the floor, probably hundreds!" The second issue was when I moved out. I provided the 60-day notice as required and signed it. They don't schedule your move-out inspection until after you sign the notice, and that's the last signature they collect from you. They scheduled the move-out inspection for the last day of my lease. Circumstances were such that I had to leave 5 days prior, which unfortunately fell on a Sunday. When I discussed this with the property manager, I asked about how that would work since there would be no one to give my keys to or to check my apartment. She told me that the other office worker had scheduled my move out inspection for XX date & that if I wasn't there on that date, I wouldn't be able to dispute anything, there was no other option since I was leaving on Sunday, but that if something exceedingly egregious was charged to me, to call. I think you can see where this is going. I cleaned the unit thoroughly before leaving and left it cleaner than when I moved in. I was still charged for 3 hours of janitorial services with a note that I wasn't present for the move out inspection. It was a "
"We moved into The Pines 2 weeks ago. The pictures of the apartments are very accurate. The appliances work really well. The office staff is super nice and they love pets. The gym is clean and has good equipment. The walls in the apartment block a lot of sound, but the ceilings don't. We hear our upstairs neighbors stomping around at all hours of the day and night. Overall, we love our new apartment."
"My roommates and I recently moved from campus place 4 to campus place 2. They are extremely nice and quiet apartments to live in. Campus place is also very affordable and close to campus, especially for aviation students being robin hall is right across the street. Dakota Commercial has been very helpful and generous to my roommates and I throughout our first year living here and during our moving process to campus place 2."
"I currently live in Campus Place apartments. They are good for the price and an excellent location if you are a college student. I am currently not a college student so sometimes I feel like there is a little bit more noise and chaos than I would like. The big downside of the apartment is that packages are difficult to get sent to this apartment, FedEx are unable to deliver to my apartment because there is no buzzer to let people into the apartment so I would suggest getting packages sent to where you work or get a PO box. Also, if you have guests you must go let them in which is not a huge deal unless you have a lot of people over."
"I have really enjoyed living so close to campus, the staff very nice and they offer different promotions throughout the year. Any issues that have come up with the apartment have always been dealt with in a professional and prompt manner. For how affordable rent is and how nice the apartment is, I recommend living here to anyone!"
