Reviews of Sonata Apartments
"The Sonata Apartments are in a great location and great neighborhood. Good maintenance staff. Management responds quickly and gives plenty of notice for maintenance. They are pet friendly, which is always great!"
"Just moved back to Sonata last month after previously lived here for 5 years) Although some non-favorable changes have happened the last few years (price increase, having to split cost of water bill for the property, not your own use??) it has always been a great place to live. Quiet, desirable location with garage, balcony and plenty of space for a 1 bedroom. Leasing agents are friendly & readily available!"
"The leasing agents are always very accessible and nice! The apartment is nice, it has black appliances, gorgeous countertops, and wood floors! The area is quiet and beautiful! The apartment came with garage spot included in the rent, which is helpful in the winter. Overall Enclave is great and I would 10/10 recommend!"
"I absolutely love my apartment and the location. I have lived in two different apartments owned by Lux and Enclave. However, the management on the other hand.. not so great. Very lackluster, and not transparent when it comes time to pay the bill. Your “utilities” which used to be free.. now are charged. Not a big deal right? Well.. you see.. Enclave isn’t upfront about how their fee is charged. You don’t pay for your usage, You pay for the entire APARTMENTS USAGE. So if you’re like me, deployed and all, I still get charged a utility fee because Enclave charges the building. Not each individual unit. And I’m not even there to use it! By the way, they will also not provide you a usage bill for the month. They will only show you the entire apartment complexes usage bill. Moving on, they like to send you “late fee’s” quite often. It’s usually on their end when it comes to their lackluster service for utilities. So be sure to check your portal. I’ve called multiple times to ask why I have a “late fee” when I have auto pay. Lux communities used to be fairly helpful and friendly, however, Enclave is just the opposite. They’re pushy, customer service is sloppy, and maintenance takes literal weeks to get accomplished. With that being said, I still do enjoy living here because at the very least they keep the complex CLEAN. The grass gets mowed every few days in the summertime and during winter time they’re fairly quick with snow removal. They have a cleaning crew come once every week or so, and she does a great job. If you chose to live here, there will be some significant shortcomings. Especially on the management side, and it’s a hefty amount. However, the apartments themselves are clean and cozy. Also comes with a garage which is handy during colder months to keep your car out of the cold temps. The neighbors are friendly and it’s a quiet space."
"I lived in 2 of their apartments, but the first was Cottage Grove when they were owned by Lux. The first one was wonderful, it was newer, staff was very friendly, maintenance was always helpful, utilities were included, and the move in/move out process was great. Because of this, I rented from them again, however, I was unable to get into my apartment until 4 PM on day of move-in and a bunch of things still needed to be fixed. Half way through my lease they started charging for utilities on top of rent, and utilities are divided up by the whole building, not your individual usage. I was out of my apartment a month early (nobody living there) and was charged $45 for the last month of utilities that I was notified of being late 2 months after my lease was up. Utilities are also due on random days in the month so they notify you randomly when you are “late” on your payments. Maintenance staff was great for everything I needed when I lived there. My laundry room was flooded by the tenant upstairs one weekend, and my garage was broken into another time, and the property managers could not do anything to help me. They do not have security cameras. Because this apartment building is on the edge of town, there was constantly snow drifts that was never ending. During some of the big storms, the 2 entrances would be drifted in and you were unable to get in or out, and many people would get stuck in the driveways trying to get to work because they were still not cleared by 9-10 AM. During my move out process, there was a miscommunication, and nobody was there until an hour later than my appointment, and then I was going to be charged with keys that I was never given at move-in. I had to prove that I wasn’t given all of the items so they wouldn’t charge me $65. Parking was okay most of the time, however some tenants would consistently park on the curb in front of the door and in the way of people driving through. Overall, they are overpriced compared to others in town and have minimal amenities."
