"This place is a joke dude. They have you fill out all these forms, talk to 3rd party lawyers just to say they can't really help you. "Allegations" is the word they love to use. I guess they need you to actually be unalived before they help. Texas do better!"
"Lady that works there makes u feel safe with the info you give her!!"
"Staff very calm and great listeners in critical times of need. Truly an over looked asset to our texarkana area! Ty to everyone who makes these services available"
"Do they even check emails? What’s the point of the “Contact Form” you all have if you don’t respond?? Bc it’s a lot of women that go or are going through domestic violence and can’t talk aloud on the phone without the risk of the abuser taking the phone."
"I was refused help because my now ex-husband went there first with lies about me. I was told he had friends in high places and that their hands were tied. The counselor that I spoke to told me that she remembered him very well. She told me she that in her opinion that he was. "gas lighting me". She discussed this with a fellow domestic violence coordinator with the police department. This coordinator agreed with her. She did not believe him either. There was never a warrant put out for my arrest or charges brought against me. However, there was a warrant put out for his arrest, and he went to jail for what he did to me. She said, she did not believe what he told her. She said her hands were tied because he had friends in high places. She said that she would lose her job if she told me who. I found out that, his friend in high places, is his first cousin. She is the Executive Director of Texarkana's Domestic Violence Organization. I was forced from my own home for 8 months because of these lies, and I never saw my day in court because of this organization. My now ex-husband dropped the charges 8 months later. If anyone out there can point me in the right direction to seek legal advice I would greatly appreciate it. Was a code of ethics broken? I still can't find a job because of the backlash, and soon I may end up homeless. I need someone to help me."
