Reviews of Woodbend Apartments
"I was interested in these apartments for my daughter who is disabled but high functioning. I was told that I could not view the unit because “we don’t do that around here”. “All the units are up to code because they are HUD units “. That’s crazy to me. My daughter is disabled . How can you place a disabled person without first allowing them to see if it’s accommodating ? This was very disappointing. The manager was nice about it , however it was very strange and off putting and a red flag . Even the worst apartment homes allow potential residents to tour a unit if one is available. And one was available."
"From what I've noticed being there to visit my sister who's lived there for 30 years.... it's a good place to live. Well maintained units and management works with the tenants well. The accommodations are exceptional and the amenities are on point."
"I’ve been staying here for 7 months and I can absolutely say I haven’t been more depressed and lived so badly in my life. The apartment I moved in was not ready nor clean. Still have stains from the last people who stayed here, walls dirty, no new carpet, no closet door, dirty fridge & stove. Later on I was told I couldn’t use my washer because it was flooding next door’s bathroom, couldn’t wash for a whole month. Then when they finally fixed it they put a huge hole in my bathroom wall maybe about 45 inches, and just pushed the washer machine in front of it did not close it up! My water bill is over $1000 for what reason i don’t know but I’ve stayed multiple times my toilet runs and is broke. So because the bill was that high they disconnect my water, I was told they were gonna handle it but I was left waiting for them with no water for 3 weeks!! Still in the situation with the water. Only good thing was cooperate paid half the bill and offered me and new unit but I still haven’t received either and I owe the water company still. Management is horrible she only contacts you when she wants you to sing things instead of solving your problems. And Also because of the whole not being actually covered up, caused rats to enter and eat up all my babies bottles. Would not recommend"
"Horrible customer service...horrible community care/service...if you are looking for a place that fairly places values of people as humans... Then, just keep moving, all they want is for you to get out their way and pay up! There is nothing Woodbend can do to save this review! I pray that you guys do better or that at least the people that seek help from your poor services find better!"
"At the time of move in there was a Property Manager by the name of Heather. Prior to move in, I informed her that I was receiving subsidy at another complex and would have to give them a 30 day notice to vacate. She was ok with that and had me to pay the security deposit to secure the unit. That was on November 18. On Dccember 19, I moved into the unit. Fast forward to January, I received a 3 day notice to vacate stating that I was receiving "double subsidy". I immediately contacted Heather who then stated that I have to vacate the unit or agree to a payment plan. Not being fully aware of the eviction process, as well as the EIV steps that are REQUIRED prior to move in, I agreed because I am a single mother of 3 who had relocated there from another city. So I paid an additional $50 per month. Fast forward to the end of my lease, Heather was terminated for various reasons, including misconduct and mismanagement . Now I'm dealing with a lady by tye name of Marilyn Moody. I give my notice to vacate, as I ALWAYS do, at the end of the following October, and I vacate the unit at the end of November.....the only problem is, they don't have a permanent property manager, so Ms. Moody and I are playing cat and mouse. No one was ever in the office, AI even stayed in contact with tenants who would be on the lookout to let ke know when someone was there. I did not drop the key in the dropbox because I wanted to do a walkthrough as to not accrue any unknown charges. I finally catch her in the office around the. 2nd week in December. I walk in, introduce myself, surrender my keys and ask if we would do a walk through and if anything else was needed. She replied "no, you're fine, have a great day." I told her the same. Fast forward to February I received a Collection notice stating that I owe $1400 in charges, mind you those are income based apartments. I NEVER received any type or correspondence or anything prior to being contacted by the collection agency. Furthermore she didn't mention qnything about any charges at the time I surrendered my keys. How can I be held accountable for charges that I accrued due to the IMPROPER handling of my mo e in by Heather. Using the EIV system is mandated by the government. At NO time did I with hold that I was receiving subsidy at another unit. As a matter of fact, the 30 notI e to vacate that my prior property manager has on filed is dated the same day I paid Heather the security deposit. They were the ones who informed of the EIV, and it's purpose, stating if she had utilized the system as required that there was no way that she did not know. And they also stated that she had been in contact with them. My former property received the utility assistance rent for the month of No ember and December because I was still occupying the unit, however, Woodbend is trying to charge me for a unit that I was even occupying. I've tried to talk to them and their "reps"but that a waster of time because they are all "FOR the company." Your voice and concerns don't matter. In one ear and out the other. They say they are there to helps with your concerns, but that's only because it sounds good.I have been disputing this account for the last 6 months. My only recourse was to reach out to legal aid who will assist me. I would NOT wish this on my worst enemy. I have ALWAYS left every property I stayed at on good terms because I never know if I have to go back one day....this is a FIRST for me."
