Reviews
"The response was so fast, I can communicate with my therapist by text and client portal. The client portable is easily usable!"
"I met with Megan McGregor and instead of helping our situation, she was judgmental, rude and openly critical of me. She left us worse off than when we met with her. If you want a therapist who chooses sides, is confrontational and intolerant, she is right for you. If you are looking for someone who is understanding, helpful and considerate, seek therapy elsewhere. I am worse off for having spent time with Megan. I cannot warn against her and Lyn Lake strongly enough."
"They somehow got my review removed so just making sure I do my due diligence in letting people know this place claims to be inclusive and is anything but. Their billing practices are highly unethical & it’s ridiculous that I should have to spend an entire appointment conferring with my provider over payment plans while still getting charged as though I received care. Psych I saw was also dismissive and completely altered the medication plan that had been working for me for 4 years before I moved there, ultimately triggering a manic episode wherein I quit my job. Boo."
"Why doesn't your administrative process include appointment confirmations, maybe via email, text. Maybe the simple, tried and true phone call? We received none of this information outside of verbal communication and were negatively impacted by the poor administrative communication. Not having these processes in place shows that your health equity lens is dysfunctional. Your clientele includes an ever-growing spectrum of neurodivergent experiences. By not ensuring your office is administratively set up to accommodate managing appointment confirmations, reminders and a receptive check-in process, you're failing your clientele, by wasting their time , making a poor first impression, and, for our family, causing distress. We were looking forward to getting answers soon. At these price points healthcare shouldnt be so poorly managed. The details: The appointment was supposed to be with Cheri Kuhn PhD. However, this provider and the Lyn-Lake Psychotherapy Company seem to lack the administrative processes to truly support the clientele they're supposedly serving. Our family's been trying to get an appointment since May. In October we finally made it to the consultation appointment. That appointment left us hopeful and eager to complete the assessment needed to gain insight and move forward. The day of the appointment comes. We arrive at the address listed in the email signature for Dr. Kuhn. There's no receptionist, only signs instructing people to wait and to knock on the door. After waiting, calling, emailing and knocking (periodically) for 35 mins. Someone finally answered the door, only to inform us that Dr. Kuhn's office was at a different location. After abandoning the remaining 2 hours of the paid parking, we went to her office. Only to find unmarked office spaces in suite 500, with no receptionist and the only relevant signs asked visitors not to knock on the doors. After waiting around in the space the emailed us back simply saying "I just got out of a meeting. We were supposed to meet at 10:00 a.m. please let me know if you'd like to reschedule." This email essentially informed us that the appointment should have been at a few hours earlier. However, meeting with Dr Kuhn earlier in October and confirming the appointment, verbally via zoom, no appointment confirmation emails with the appointment details was provided. No reminder call or email was sent to us. It's quite a shame considering we're in an era full of more ways to communicate than ever and this PhD didn't use any of them to service neurodivergent clientele. She didn't even try to connect on site. Who knows how long we'll have to wait before we can find an accessible provider, after already having waited 9 months. Please, Do Better."
"My Thearpist was Suzanne Shanklin I had seen her for maybe only 2 months Almost immediately she required me to read a book and said she wouldn’t work with me unless I read that book and I called her out on it because I explained how I was not in a position to be reading during a move and High stress. When confronted she became a little argumentative, not addressing my current situation or finding other alternatives. We were able to get past it but I had to spend at least 2 sessions advocating for myself. During this time the waitlist I was on for DPT opened up and Insurance wouldn’t allow two thearpist so I had to end my thearpy with Suzanne, she seemed to understand and told me t.o reach out to her if I needed anything. A couple days ago I reached out feeling I was in crisis and doubting my decision about DBT and wanted to make an appointment with her and she’s never responded. This has damaged the Relationship and I don’t feel I’ll be able to return to her after my DBT."
