"There is nothing wrong with the clinic itself. The receptionists are always friendly, nice, and helpful. If I could give less stars I would though due to my OBGYN but I don't want to hurt the clinics overall score just based off of one doctor. I was pushed to get the Covid and flu vaccination while being pregnant. I denied both. This is how my recent visit went and I am NOT happy about it. We were talking about birth and the use of medications. I prefer to use nothing at this point. The OB said "it's standard US medical practice to give pitocin after birth" Me: I thought pitocin was only used to get contractions going? What about fundal massages? OB: It's standard medical practice to give pitocin after birth because it helps the uterus contract and its better to do the pitocin incase of heavy bleeding instead of needing a blood transfusion later on. Me: Ok i get that but why do you need it after birth? The OB just kept repeating the samething, I feel like I was being pushed into something I didn't want. Me: sits there and doesn't say much OB: you guys can take some time to think it over and come to a decision but it is standard medical practice in the US Last thing before we left: I think I have strep throat. There's a white spot on my throat and it's whiteish back there. OB: let me see (looks) I don't see anything. You'll have to go to an acute care or a family practitioner. I don't have anything here to do anything about it. (Kinda shrugs her shoulders) Me: I know there is a white spot there because I just checked. (Literally right before the OB walked in) Earlier this week I did a urine test and it came back positive for Group Strep B so OB had prescribe me amoxicillion for that which after going to an acute care and finding out I had no need to go. I already had the antibiotics for both. I am beyond livid.... I ended up going straight to my friend that worked in L&D and they said that pitocin is only given after birth if the baby is 9lbs and over or if you have a c-section. My friend also works at sanford...... Again, I'm beyond livid because this is my baby and I'm TRUSTING someone to do what's best for ME and BABY not their individual preferences. I will be switching on 3/13 to a midwife."
