Reviews of Sanford Dermatology & Laser Clinic
"Received a referral from my primary doctor for removal of a mole. Initial schedule made in April 2023 was for seeing a plastic surgeon in November 2023! I was surprised to receive a call in July that a doctor can see me on the same day. I took time off work to visit the Sanford Dermatology in Fargo only to be surprised - I was not seeing a doctor, and certainly not a plastic surgeon. They sent me to some doctor-substitute instead - "physician assistant". Protesting that I need a mole removal and not just a mere consultation, they had the audacity to offer yet another referral on the first referral instead. At the time of the visit I was offered a removal of an age spot on my shoulder instead. Having had an age spot removed before (at a different place) I agreed. Only to be surprised again - the person pretending to be a doctor burned the age spot with liquid nitrogen (the other place used an electrocautery which left no mark on my skin whatsoever) and overdid it at that. Now I have no age spot but a huge scar instead! Calling back they not only refused to cancel my over inflated fee, but actually charged me a fee as if I had visited with a real MD! 8/23/21 Update: Yesterday, and after my calls to Sanford, a person named Shawn or Sean Isaac called claiming he is the director of Fargo Sanford - Dermatology. He called only to blame me and not to listen. He claimed it was my fault I didn't stop the visit the moment I knew the person I am visiting with is not an MD. He did not want to answer questions like: What I am paying for? Why was I cheated to take time off work only to be refused the treatment I requested? Why are they charging me a full fee for a scar? Would he be willing to go get burned, branded, and pay for that? Many questions but Mr. Isaac is not hired to provide care or answers. He also flatly refused to communicate insisting instead it was my fault going to his clinic. The total bill for the pleasure and honor to get branded was over the $1,200mark! " I am not going to listen to you anymore" - I heard from Shawn on the phone few times during our (mostly his) conversation in which he attempted to convince me they are right to charge me. So, in conclusion, if you are in the "scarring-my-body-mood", please consider Sanford Dermatology in Fargo and their medieval burning practices. Otherwise, my advise would be, stay as far away as possible for any skin procedures, or insist on electrocautery, a real plastic surgeon, and an MD at any rate!"
"Go somewhere else if at all possible this place is terrible! They only do what works for them and is convenient for their own schedules. Appointments get rescheduled over and over for their own convenience like vacations with no concern for the patient."
"My independent dermatologist retired and needed to choose another. Have Sanford insurance so decided to try here. The original dr I chose left before I saw her and called and asked to see Lauren Berg, PA-C. She was awesome. Easy to converse with. Listened and asked questions on family. Her nurse was great as well. Thankful to find a great new provider and hope to keep her for a long time."
"Dr. Gonzales is an amazing provider and goes above and beyond with her advise and expertise. I always trust her judgement and received many compliments about my skin!"
"As for the spa side of the clinic, the person who handles the lasers is very rough and has an attitude. She also failed to use the agreed upon setting we agreed upon resulting in little effectiveness. I would recommend goingc somewhere where they listen to the patient! She was rough and lied about other services they supposedly provide in order to do the service on the day I was in. She wanted to do what she wanted to do for a sale, not what was in my best interest!"
