"Seems like the staff here is really good. No complaints there. But the little things like having retirees do valet work for dirt cheap or free and the horrible guest internet makes it look like administrators/management likes to cut corners where they can..."
"First off, I am from out of state and am visiting family. My grandson went into the ER for symptoms that were worsening. The first thing the PA did was do blood tests for mono and kidney stones. The only symptom he had that would match either one was fatigue. Totally unnecessary tests. (It is not the people on medicaid that is wasting money, it is the physicians.) His lab values from 5 days prior had changed for the worse. She was just going to send him home saying he was constipated even though prior xrays showed a full colon and yesterday's was shown as only have a moderate amount. She had not even talked to the radiologist at this point to have his input. Poor doctoring aside, his mom asked for a consultation with a couple of specialists. You have to advocate for your child or yourself in these circumstances, right? She walked out and I decided to leave at this point opened the door to leave a minute or two after this PA walked out and saw her at the nurses desk making faces and gestures about us while the nurses stood laughing at and with her. I stared and when she noticed I was watching, she quickly stuck her face in the computer over a nurses shoulder. Not only is that terribly rude, but a violation of HIPPA. I would NEVER, EVER, choose Sandford for Healthcare after seeing the way this PA or the nurses acted. This is why people don't advocate for themselves. No one wants to be ostracized in a setting where they are worried and scared for their children or themselves. This happened in Vermillion, SD. Perhaps not all Sanford facilities harbor such rude and unempathetic medical professionals, but why take the chance. He is being seen elsewhere today, due to a real Healthcare professional feeling he needed more in depth care for his issues. I"
"My daughter went by ambulance and laid up therfor 12 hours before she went to surgery in extreme pain. When I called up there after work to check on her they said the surgeon would be calling me cuz I was on the emergency contact list he never did"
"This review is about the coffee shop on the first floor. I wouldnt get coffee here unless you absolutely have to. I ordered a drink and the man working burnt the milk so bad it was almost tasteless. After bring it to his attention, in hopes he would fix it. He tried to charge me more money to fix it and became very difficult to talk to. A complete waste of money and very poor customer service."
"Waiting for my husband to come out of his upperGI and Colonoscopy procedure when they wheeled him out I was disappointed to find not only some trash on the floor but an abundance of dust bunnies in the corner. I understand being short staffed but doing a poor job of cleanliness when you are suppose to be on a sterile environment to fight the possibility of infection is upsetting. If the rooms are not clean what is the rest of the place like. Maybe less fancy statues and pretty pictures and spend a little more on clean environments"
