Reviews of Big Timbers
"Great ice cream, great service, great people, worked with me and made me a custom sundae"
"We stayed here for a weekend getaway in early March. It was quite snowy, but our room was beautiful, warm, and cozy. We enjoyed our trip and will DEFINITELY be back next year. Highly recommend to anyone who wants to enjoy Lake Itasca Park. P.S. We also highly recommend Lobo's Bar down the street for some amazing biscuits and gravy for breakfast!!"
"highly recommend this hotel, hosts are quite nice and one of the owners met us at property and had the parking lot plowed within minutes of us arriving. They even allowed us to check in 4 hours early due to heavy snow falling and our previous hotels power going out at 6am.I can't say thanks enough for you letting us come so early.will definately be back next winter"
"My husband and I stayed here for a two night getaway to explore and do some biking at Itasca State Park during the Fall color change. I called directly for a reservation instead of booking through VRBO. One of the owners, Christine, secured my booking and sent me a confirmation email with the details. She kept me informed via text when the room was ready and with the access code. She made everything so easy and I would have loved to have met her. She was lovely to speak with. Location to the park was practically a hop, skip and a jump to the north entrance. There is a general store across the street from Big Timbers, just before entering the park, for any necessities you may have forgotten. There is not much for dining in the area, but we were there on a Sun-Mon in October, so there might be more options during peak season. Plan on 20 to 30 miles and alot of places were closed on Sun-Mon. There are a couple of Webber charcoal grills I believe for guests use, and a small refrigerator and microwave in the units. Big Timbers is a newer property. They opened in May of 2022. There are four adjoining units along with a couple other buildings they might still be working on, so it is, I'm sure, a work in progress. We stayed in room #4. Not much to look at in front of the building as it sets slightly back off the main road, and the back of the building is wooded. We did not hear any noise from the main road. I cannot account for noise from other guests as there was only one other unit rented while we were there and we were at opposite ends of the building. It was very quiet and we got a good night's sleep. The buildings and our room were absolutely beautiful, in addition to being impeccably clean. I can honestly say I have never been in such a clean room. I always look at things that a lot of people may not notice, such as window sills, door knobs, blinds and baseboards. I did not see a speck of dust nor a stray hair anywhere. The room was, what I would call, rustic modern chic, if that makes sense. It had a cabin feel but yet very modern. An eclectic mix of different colored woods along with tile. Nice decor, plenty of linens and blankets, a comfortable king sized bed, plush towels and great water pressure. I don't know about the pillows because I brought my own, but they had 4 pillows. A lot of times pictures are deceiving and I'm often disappointed, but this room was the opposite. The pictures do not do it justice. Sorry this review is so long, but I was extremely impressed, and I would highly recommend Big Timbers (not to be confused with Big Timber Lodge). I have a feeling this place will be hard to book in the future once the word gets out."
"My friends and I stayed here for a girls weekend. Staff was friendly and helpful. Rooms were new and beautiful with nice amenities. Great proximity to Itasca State Park. I will stay here again!"
