Froggy Bottoms River Suites 309 Water Street South, Northfield, MN 55057

"I read the reviews and thought this would be the perfect place for family weekend. We paid a little over $200 a night for a the Lilly Pad “Suite”. Yes, it’s over the bridge from the Main Street in Northfield, but there’s an abandoned pub under in, next to it and across the street from the Eagles bar. Between midnight and 2:30am you get to hear all the drunks yelling outside. It’s not a “suite”, “charming” or “quaint”. It’s a dingy run down old apartment building. For almost, $500 for the whole stay we faced a parking lot, the DIY caulking around the tub drains and toilet were awful. It smelled of dingy old cigarette smell. The coffee in the fridge was stale and clumpy. Someone lives in #2 and their TV is blaring. I would say the mattresses date back to the 80’s with no support and very used. I never met the person who works there as I was instructed to text them when I got there then my card was immediately charged. It’s not a cute frog theme, it’s an uncomfortable frog decorations with puppets and pirate frogs in the closet. There our taped switches and ants. The floor is old fashion maroon carpet and the couch is very old and worn. I would recommend the Airbnb on the main strip or the Fairfield Inn near it. I would not recommend this place. I did let management know but was only told bedding is on their list and called it “charm”."

"These little suites were just the cutest! Clean. Well decorated. Kari, the hotel manager was more than accommodating. Great location for walking down town Northfield."

"- [ ] First things first;and best quality about Froggy Suites in Northfield is location, location, location right downtown within walking distance to everything you want to do there. We have rented Suite 5 for an annual trip for many years. The place is spacious, comfortable and quirky with a distinctively frog theme throughout. The large kitchen is pretty well stocked with most utensils and dishes etc if you decide to cook, and Breakfast bar with 2 stools. A Small table and chairs and sleeper sofa round out the kitchen/living room over looking River St. Two suites outlook the river but we haven’t rented those but I’m pretty sure they are similarly decked out. This suite has two queen beds in a separate large bedroom. Bear in mind the historic aspect of the suites and its furnishings and they are located up a one tall flight of stairs. No elevator. They have tall ceilings and large windows and our suite had two window ac units and baseboard heating. For the price Froggy Suites is a great value and the accommodations can’t be beat in Northfield."

"I would have given this a 3.5 if that was an option. For us, the best thing about staying in the Dr. Visty suite was the location right on the river and right in town. I rated this lower because of cleanliness. I'm sure it had been dusted, vacuumed, and linens changed between guests. It was more like carpet and couch needed a deep cleaning, and the kitchen dishes need checking between guests. Yes, there is a dishwasher, but all of the pots and pans were burned with residue of previous guest's food. We found one that was the least dirty and tried to scrub it with the mesh bag from avocados we brought (there was no scrubbie provided in the suite; that would have helped)."

"Stayed in the Dr. Visty Sweet and loved it! Full kitchen, two bedrooms, and a beautiful balcony looking over the river. Some river bugs in sweet but in a historical 200 some year old building on the river that just has to be expected. It was clean and cozy and I was even able to do my laundry! Will definitely be back!"
