Reviews of Old State House Museum
"Amazing place to visit. Free admission and plenty of history in this building! Great staff and a gorgeous historic building."
"Such a beautiful history site. I'm so glad they keep it restored. Interesting tour. Would recommend!"
"I'm not a big fan of museums, but that one grabbed my attention in several rooms. Especially I'd recommend to see the one about Kent Bonar, illustrator and naturalist. I was very impressed by his work, watched a video on TV about him and couldn't go until it ended. Such a talented person!"
"This place is free to visit at this moment in time due to the works they are doing on the ground floor, but how great is inside, if like us, you are into history and so many more things: - lots of information about the past times in this part of the world and what building used to house - lots of information upstairs on more local history, traditions, beside the difference the woman were trying to create here 100 years ago, just like the Sufragette in the UK - unexpectantly, we discovered a room dedicated to music - simply amazing. Of course we could not stop ourselves from buying some of their amazing mugs from their shop. I know, the place smells of old - but is the smell of great old!!!!!"
"I really enjoyed our visit here while in Little Rock. The Old State House Museum is the original state capitol building of Arkansas and the oldest standing state capitol building west of the Mississippi River! All the staff I encountered here was friendly and welcoming; I met Jimmy and he was able to tell me about the knife fight that broke out between two of the legislators. Lots to see and learn. The museum has free admission but accepts donations to preserve this beautiful building and its history."
