Reviews of Home2 Suites by Hilton Minneapolis Bloomington
""The hot tub will be closed March 08, 2024 - March 31, 2024" The message I received today for my non-refundable booking was paid in full long ago. The working "hot tub" was the main attraction of this hotel as many other hotels in Minneapolis do not have this feature. I feel that you ruined the spring break for my 3 kids."
"This was an rather unpleasant stay. When we arrived at the hotel, the person behind the desk was just picking up the phone to dial her manager for assistance. No problem waiting, but she did not acknowledge our presence at all. No eye contact, no smile, no greeting - it was very awkward. After she resolved the issue and checked the other party into their room, she offered them some water. This was about 15 minutes without acknowledging our presence. She then checked us into our hotel room, and I asked for water. She very rudely said, 'well, are YOU rewards members?'. When I said that yes, actually, we were, she said 'well what's your NUMBER? (rather than looking it up as in every previous hilton experience) I said nevermind and went up to the room. Later that evening, we discovered that the kitchen Suites do not stock corkscrews. We went down to the front desk to inquire, and our request was very abruptly dismissed (different person than check in), with a 'why would we have that' attitude. To top it all off, the breakfast was absolutely abysmal, the walls are not very soundproof, and they charged $10 to park. The rooms themselves are nice, but we won't be back."
"The sound insulation is TERRIBLE in these rooms. I was here on business and staying on the top floor and you can hear almost everything in the surrounding rooms. I was woken up at 3:30 Thursday morning by the people in one of the rooms around us stomping around, playing loud music, and unnecessarily screaming during sex. I called the front desk 3 TIMES with no answer. I then got up and went downstairs to let them know that I had to get up at 6am for work. It took a while before anything was done because the ducts are so loud in the hallways you can’t hear what’s going on in the rooms. By that point it was almost time to get up for the day. The heat regulation was way off in the rooms. One room was super hot and the other cold even though the thermostat was set to the same I each area. It felt like a draft coming through the bedroom heating unit. They claimed to have over 400 breakfast items and they must have been counting the individual cereal pieces because I saw 3 cereals, two types of fruit, 2 powdered egg options, 2 premade sandwiches, and waffles. They do have plain water to drink though which surprisingly doesn’t exist at some hotels. The shower head had the water spitting out in every direction but down which made for a joyless shower. There was mold running along the bottom of shower. The mattress was a king with two twin box springs underneath. How do I know this? I could feel a hard ridge running down the center. So uncomfortable. There is one patch of grass behind the vet clinic for a dog relief area. The issue is that it runs along a very busy road with no sidewalk to buffer between the grass and the road. So please keep your pups close. I had to check out an induction burner and pans to use. The burner was gross and the pans were sad. The TV guide didn’t match any of the channels which was the least of my complaints. Positives: underground parking, large rooms, big fridge, close to grocery, Target, and restaurants. I won’t be coming back."
"The place was awesome. The staff was so friendly and made you feel like home. The pool and hot tub were decent, and the exercise room was very clean. There is a bathroom with a shower to use right by the pool area. For families, this place is great because the suites have a big refrigerator, sink, dishes, dishwasher, and microwave. The breakfast was decent. Of course the kids loved the waffle machine. Hot breakfast with egg omelet with peppers and cheese inside. Also have Oatmeal, cereal toast etc. Also when I booked I thought it was closer to the Mall of America (MOA), but it is down.a.ways from it, but only takes about 8 minutes to get there on the freeway. I also think you can get a shuttle to MOA. The neighbors this hotel is in has been built up and is upscale. There are restaurants and a grocery store right on the property. Free parking and also underground parking. We will stay again."
"Very convenient location. Plenty of parking. Room was clean and warm. We were able to check in early which was a bonus. Wine glasses in the kitchen would be appreciated. Loved the fitness area with a Peloton bike. Great breakfast! Friendly staff!"
