Berg's Resort

"Nice resort, Tom Brewer, is a fake, more than likely one whiner that bit by a misquote. Mark Dorn, if you're trying to take family fishing a 2:30 in the afternoon, you are out of you crazy mind. Anybody who does any fishing knows at 2:30 in the afternoon take a nap. Eat an early supper, go out 5 to 9pm over even better 6 to 10 pm. I as a fishing guide and tournament angler will tell you, do the evening bite."

"Pros: Cozy, clean, and modern Cabins. Good Pan fishing lake. Cons: On our first day of rental, check in time was at 2:30 p.m. We paid for 4 hours of Boat and Motor rental that day. The Boat and Motor was not made available to us until 5:00 p.m. We lost 2 hours of fishing due to the Resorts' lack of preparation. We did NOT receive any reimbursement for the 2 hours lost fishing time. The Boat and Motor we rented (in addition to the Cabin) was 30 years old. The Motor broke down and would NOT start, leaving us stranded across the Lake from the Resort. If it wasn't for several other Anglers fishing in their Boat, we would have been stranded for who knows how long. The other Anglers willingly towed us back to the Resort to dock. We waited for the Resort operators brother to arrive to assess the Motor issue. He stated he knew exactly what the problem was, and fixed it using two pieces of firewood, and left the firewood in the Boat along with verbal instructions how to fix it in the event it happened again.The Boat only had one anchor which made it difficult to fish in due to the wind. The Boat had no Paddles provided with it. Due to the lack of good Customer service, and the chided disposition of the Resort Staff, we will NOT return to this Resort ever again. Whatever happened to bending over backwards to please your Resort guests to ensure they come back for a return stay? I will write this off as 'signs of the times'."

"My family has been coming to Berg's Resort for four generations. Every summer we come and stay at the cabin and all of us fish and swim, and spend family time together. It's my favorite place on earth, and the people who run it make it that way!"

"Set in the woods, this mom and pop retreat is quiet and clean. The fishing is good and the beds are next to heaven comfortable. The lake is clean, sandy bottom with no drop offs. One can boat to several other lakes in the chain without stepping out on shore. It is only a bike ride away from shopping and an amusement park. It has been family run for almost 60 years."
