"We brought our pontoon to Paul’s Upholstery as it needed a new cover. Paul assured me he had done several pontoon covers throughout his career and I believed him as I’ve seen his business along the highway for decades. Because of a very early snow fall we were not able to pick our pontoon up when we had planned. This was not anyone’s fault but we were running against the clock now to get it into storage before we left for vacation in mid November. Paul called us November 5 to report it was done. We drove over to pick it up and I honestly thought when we pulled into the driveway that he had not put the tarp on properly. It was sagging in the front and at least half of the snaps had bunches of fabric between them. We’re not seamstresses but he clearly had way too much fabric and didn’t seem to care. He put the middle extension rod towards the back of the pontoon so there is a giant sag from the front of the pontoon to past the halfway point. When I brought this to his attention he said ‘that fabric will shrink. Anyone would know that’. Huh?? And then he completely clammed up. He knew we were not happy but refused to admit he did a HORRIBLE job. We are now in a jam because we have to get the pontoon stored and we have to have a cover. We ended up paying our bill and leaving. I wrote on the receipt that I would want the option of bringing it back if the fabric did not ‘shrink’ and he was not happy about that. Very unprofessional and rude. I’m surprised he’s been in business this long looking at his shoddy work and his rude attitude. We can only hope that we find someone to try and fix the mess he made."
