"I'm a grandparent, career as an RN,worked in vast areas for over 20 years!!In all my years of having my own children in daycare when they were young(four), never have I seen or experienced a lack of interest, professionalism, friendliness, productive management of staff, staff issues,staff- child issues, child- child issues!!! I personally have picked up my grandchild before in this daycare and the atmosphere was not welcoming or friendly. The children were on the playground and staff weren't friendly at all!! The children were playing, some just standing around. The staff were on their phones.Noone assisted me finding my grandchild!! My grandchild ran to me immediately!! That's the only time anyone stopped looking at their phone.I had to say who I was.The staff wasn't really interested, smiled and continued talking ,using their phones. They were in a huttle just amongst themselves. Not interacting with the kids nor monitoring their playtime. When you reach out to management, the response isn't one of trying to offer more education to staff or reassurance to the parent to speak with the staff of parents concerns.I definitely got the feeling at this daycare, it's not about what you know but who you know!!These people can't have legitimate credentials ,think and behave the way they do.Theres no excuse. Many people don't have time to give reviews, so busy with other life duties. This daycare needs all new staff or should be closed!! I plan on making a complaint with the State for other issues as well. This is a drop- in center essentially when you just need an adult body there to watch your child while you run errands. They truly don't care and it shows!!!Sorry, I don't believe in sugar- coating the truth!!Arrogance and ignorance at its finest. You pay a hefty tuition fee but by no means do you get what your child deserves!! Don't bother touring this place, save yourself the dissatisfaction. So sad!!! Erica"
"I wasn’t really satisfied or pleased with this child care center. I didn’t really feel apart or like the workers or management really care about the concerns of parents regarding their child. Numerous times I had to pick up my child and his nose was running while the teachers just sat there. I had to ask them for a tissue to wipe his nose. My son was sent home multiple times not wiped properly and still smelling like a dirty diaper although he had been changed. It’s $400+ plus a week and it’s their job to make sure your child is taken care of until the end of the day. The teachers are not good at communicating with parents on how their child is doing in class. I feel like some of the teachers were incompetent as far as communication wise. They made it seem like there was something wrong with my child because he had temper tantrums. Isn’t that a normal thing for 3 & 4 year olds? It didn’t seem as if they really enjoyed working with the children but more like it was just a job. I didn’t get that feeling of the workers or management having a true passion or excitement for working with children. This is just a place to bring your children for the day while you take care of important things for the day (work, etc). I don’t feel like my child learned anything from attending this care center. This would only be a temporary care center if you plan on transitioning your child to go elsewhere, in my opinion. I actually was worried about leaving my son there but I needed him to get that interaction with other children in his age group; before him starting pre-k. My son would get sent home with scratches from other kids and then when I pick him up from school half the time the teacher would say they didn’t know what happened because they weren’t in his class at the time. However, if he scratched a child they knew exactly what happened and how. It’s $50+ to have your child attend Spanish class yet it’s only one day out of the week & only for an hour. If other children are sick in the class/ have a fever you won’t know about it until your child is sent home with one. There was a child in the school with strep throat yet they didn’t feel the need to notify parents right away about this. If your going to pay to have your child somewhere make sure it’s a place that you feel genuinely cares about your child’s well-being including their health & emotional well-being. Make sure they are somewhere that is focused on your child learning as much as possible. My son is very love-able but every time I would drop him off he’d start screaming and crying for me. I’m unsure what goes on when I’m not there but children can sense when you don’t want to be bothered with them or tolerate them. I believe the teachers aren’t very good with children. I believe the environment and atmosphere makes a great difference in your child’s happiness. No hard feelings, but this center needs to do better."
"It's been a wonderful experience sending my foster son here! It's abundantly clear that his teachers know him and his quirks and love him like their own. He is only three months but they keep him very busy with activities and interactions. I was nervous to send him to daycare, but knowing he goes to see the same team of loving women each day helps. They are also wonderful about keeping me updated on his eating, napping, and potty schedule and sending lots of photos of everything he does!"
"I’ve never felt uncomfortable dropping off my daughter. The staff is amazing, building is always clean and “happy” and the other children make this place the best there is for preschoolers."
"This New Horizon Academy location is exceptional! My now toddler started here when he was six months and it has been an experience that will stay with me forever. I fondly reminisce on his early days with Miss Sheila and Traci and how it was always the high point of my day. As he moved from room to room it was evident that this location cares about their kids. My son doesn't bond easily but he really loved his teachers. I could tell they went out of their way to make him feel special. His teachers from this past year - Miss Jenna, Janine, Noreen, Torey, September, Brittany, Elizabeth and Rochelle to name a few - were so amazing. They were always so accommodating to his special needs and I will always be so grateful to them. They shared in my joy in his growth and milestones - how amazing is that! The classes are well organized with great and fun learning activities. The center is very clean and organized. The teachers and staff are very responsive to any questions or concerns. I have some friends and co-workers who feel the same way. If you are a parent or guardian with a busy life and need care for your child, this is the location for you. I will forever be grateful to this center. Your kindness will definitely be rewarded."
