Children’s Minnesota Hospital Pediatric Emergency Department

"we waited three hours for my son to be taken back (not seen by the doctor) for injured foot, he couldn’t walk on it. it took them two hours to order the x-rays and I had to remind them twice. We waited another three hours in the emergency room, private rooms for a doctor to assign themselves to my son. They were tons of people working there, but only two doctors on staff. My son was in pain. No one asked us if we wanted pain medicine. I had to ask the nurses regularly when someone would help my son. They kept telling me he would be next. Finally after six hours we saw a Doctor Who spent six minutes with him said the x-rays were inconclusive and we went home. I had to yell and beg to get someone to treat my son, and we were the last ones in the ED. it was nearly 9 o’clock when we arrived and nearly 3AM when we departed. My child was in tears."

"My experience at the ER was bad! I waited for 5 hours with my 18 months old son and 2 months old son and wasn’t seen! The nurse told me I can leave if I want because I’m going to wait more hours! At the nursing station everyone sitting without doing anything or checking on us. This hospital is only for white people, please black people don’t waste your time to take your kids to children’s hospital ER."

"I wish I could give negative stars. Went with my 3 year old and after waiting 4 hours I discovered something terrible they were only attending WHITE PEOPLE and seem to neglect every other race saw Asian, Hispanics and black people NOT getting attended at all. A young black boy came with shortness of breathe and was visibly struggling to breathe I kid you not they couldn’t care less about him. The white people that would walk in would get called in 10 minutes later after very sick children that were not white were in the waiting room for hours. DO NOT COME HERE IF YOU ARENT WHITE. Go to the Minneapolis location. Very RACIST at this St. Paul location."

"This has to be one of United States Top 10 worst hospitals to come to in a case of an emergency. My kid couldn’t walk and not one employee helped with the door or assisted with the wheelchair. There is a 4+ hour wait no matter what for no reason. The front desk staff is poor with information and it’s alot of nurses standing around doing nothing when they can be helpful. This place should either be closed down or opened to adults, this is not and don’t feel like a place you should take your kid to if they need help. Im saddened to see it’s been getting terrible reviews for some time now and nothing has changed. I wish I can give zero stars."

"It’d be nice if they dimmed the lights after certain hours. But here I am waiting in a room full of sick kids trying to sleep in a waiting room with the brightest of lights known to man. Good hospital care tho. The nurses are great!"
