Reviews of Sanford Children's Hospital
"I went in for a checkup (at the time I was 16) because I was showing symptoms of rectal prolapse the doctor told me that I should not be pushing in the first place (witch was true) but did not give me any real treatment to cure it. It wasn't until i went to avera where I got the surgery that i needed to cure my rectal prolapse. (So Just go to avera there better.)"
"We had a really poor experience at the Children's hospital compared to the NICU which we started at the first 3 weeks of my daughters life. I want to specifically call out Dr. Reichman who blatantly doesn't do research and look at his patients well enough to know better. My newborn daughter needed to drink more and he refused to let us lower the IV fluids to see if she would drink more. His reasoning was because there was "centuries of data that say IVs don't affect hunger." Galloway the hospitalist ended up telling us a few days later "maybe" reducing her IV could help with feeding. He was so unsure just like many other things. They pulled my daughter down to a minimal amount of fluid and imagine this-- she started eating more than the goal every time. Everything seemed to be guess work and made up data vs working with what was on front of them. I do not recommend this hospital for any specialty care."
"I should’ve read these reviews before driving an hour and a half here. Room was dirty, they seems greedy. They said snack was free but their eyes are always on you. even if you don’t take any. Food they serve was mold and very small compared to other hospitals. They don’t even bring everything you order. They said they will make another plate after serving mold toast, but never did. Had to waited till lunch. Examine, radiology lady or Ivy lady with red hair and my nurse took forever to finish up with the ivy needle which cause my two months old baby to cry so hard with pains. And this is what She said- “it’s ok baby. Oh I wanted so bad to screamed and say it is not ok!! I cried it really broke my heart. They’re not that professional. They basically poked my baby for nothing. Doctors took forever to show up."
"AVOID IF AT ALL POSSIBLE!! Absolute nightmare I dread the Sanford name now. 1st experience doctor didn't make it in due to bad weather, ok fine....Until I get billed for an appointment that never happened 4 hours spent calling fighting bills, complete nonsense, on to the 2nd issue a literal entire day of my life gone. Wasted trying to get in touch with them, every call or transfer the same experience, wait on hold for 45 to 50 minutes, all just to get transferred, dropped or told that you were transferred to the wrong place but they can't get you to the right office and you will need call a different number at another branch and start over again. Because they don't talk or share databases? 3rd They have all your contact info and can reach you instantly when they are getting you roped in to an appointment but then somehow They can't contact you and have the wrong name when they think you owe them for a tiny amount that they forgot to add from another visit that's already been paid for.... no bills, or calls received about it they just turn you in to collections under the wrong name? So even if they did send you anything you wouldn't open it. All this after you obviously wasted time calling them to update your new address in their system and paid your bills off because they still do not actually have your name and all your info right in their system. The main facility says we got it right but hmm... ITS NOT YOUR NAME on the Collection Agency bill sent out for a twenty dollar item they didn't add to your bill..My account says paid in full but now collections is possibly after me for less than the loose change in my couch...Reporting them as fraud it should be criminal to put someones credit at risk for your screw up and forcing them to spend days just to get a hold of someone to fix their error.... nah dealing with billing is a full time job with these people. Complete incompetence, either get it together or shutdown"
"Well, I can't say thank you enough for everything you did for my son, I will never forget your kindness in my son's journey through this life. I wish I could remember all the nurses who helped me with my son, but I do remember a few, Angela, Aulora, Amy, and the last who touched my heart is Brianna, you knew your wits with my little 1. Well, Thank You Doctors and nurses who helped me with my little 1, God Bless You All!!!!!"
