"I worked for Core and Main for a year and a half through a temp service and would have truly enjoyed my time there if it wasn't for the warehouse manager and his unprofessional attitude and lack of respect. I was told that I'd be made full time and than a week later the Warehouse manager would tell me they were 1 man over their quota and that I was "that man" but because I was a "temp" that was OK. I was told this repeatedly at the 3, 6, 9, and 12 month mark and this tactic of being constantly reminded that I was expendable played havoc with my mental state while employed there and I actually started having anxiety attacks while pulling in and seeing his vehicle in the parking lot every morning. Also while I was there at least a half a dozen fellow temps would be brought in only for them to quit a week later, or less, due to the toxic environment. The warehouse manager would yell and belittle employees in front of fellow employees and even customers over any mistake, one time I was called into the lobby over the intercom and was yelled at and belittled by the warehouse manager in front of my fellow employees and customers being asked if I knew how to count and how this could have happened, if I remember correctly the count was off by one piece of pipe, and this happened more than once for both myself and other employees. Another incident involved myself being hit in the head with a ratchet strap by another employee, complete accident, one day and I was bleeding profusely from a large cut on the top of my head and the warehouse manager told me to clock out and seek medical attention. I than drove myself, face covered in blood, to the VA through heavy traffic before arriving safely, still don't know how as I had blood in my eyes and was woozy. The VA doctor was amazed that I was able to make it safely and that nobody from the company had been ordered to drive me. After I returned to work 2 or 3 days later the warehouse manager called all employees into his office for a "safety meeting" to watch the video of my accident and than proceeded to make jokes about the incident, everyone but myself laughed, and this made me feel like a complete fool and the butt of a bad joke. The verbal abuse and constant ridicule got so bad I even told the temp service about the warehouse manager's unprofessional verbal abuse and dismissive attitude. After having someone from the temp service contact the warehouse manager about my issues his attitude changed, for about three whole days. This toxic work environment continued to the point that I once had a panic attack at work and had to call my wife because I thought I was having a heart attack. I was also harassed if I told the warehouse manager that I needed a day off or needed to leave early because of a sick child and that from then on I would need a doctor's note if I expected to be able to stay home with a sick child, after that pronouncement I made sure to always receive a doctor's note. One day he even had the audacity to ask me if my wife ever helped with the children and why was it always my responsibility to miss work, my wife and I took turns missing work if necessary to take care of a sick child. I was so off put by this statement that I left without saying anything in return and I still can't believe he was so unprofessional as to mention my wife in such an offhanded and rude manner. I can take the verbal abuse but to have my wife mentioned in such a disrespectful manner from the warehouse manager still makes me angry. The warehouse manager also had no problem releasing me from work early if work was slow but if I needed to take a day it was almost treated like a betrayal. Despite this disrespectful attitude toward myself for having to miss any work over a child and yet he would leave work early every day between 2 and 3 p.m. to pick up his own children from school. Trust me the hypocrisy was not lost upon myself."
"Not family oriented when it comes to their employees. My husband got let go because my son tested positive for the Flu type A yesterday though he had a doctors note. My husband never misses work unless it comes to our children. As parents we take turns staying home with our children since we can't afford childcare. Instead he gets yelled at and belittled and bullied with comments why his wife can't take care of the kids. Which is totally uncalled for not to mention cruel! This is so unprofessional! Not mention the racist jokes and comments he has had to endure while working there. Such lack of empathy and caring. When my husband got injured on the job with a head injury bleeding out they laughed, joked, and didn't bother to drive him to the hospital he had to drive himself. So for everyone applying to this job be sure to expect this from the warehouse manager!!"
"Terrible service was told my order was not as important as a city account and was not interested in helping me unless i pre paid and waited 6-8 weeks I sure miss HD Waterworks"
"Called and spoke to someone who said they sell 10β long 12β diameter HDPE. Showed up to the office and they said they do not sell partial pieces. Very disappointed in their customer service."
