"The owner, Gary Cooper, will be your best bud before getting paid. After that fact however, he passes the responsibility to his employees or subs if there's a warranty claim or installation error. I have a crack in my new hardwood floor, with the warped grain elevated above the floor surface creating a cutting edge. Bennet-Cooper also installed the brickwork for my fireplace. The company missed placing the brick 2 1/2" completely around the entire area of each of the three glass doors. The fireplace manufacturer representative said the brick was installed incorrectly, as the brick framing which was done to Bennet-Cooper instruction, was not done per manufacturer specification. The owner of Bennett-Cooper Floors, Gary Cooper, told me I had to call his employee that did the job. One can speculate as to why Gary Cooper, the actual person to whom I paid $1225 for the service, is diverting responsibilty. Gary Cooper sounded surprised when I actually spoke with his employee, whom is no longer employeed with Bennett-Cooper Floors. The ex-employee stated he would provide the service to replace the brick properly. When I called Gary Cooper back, he brushed me off, told me he wasn't paying for any brick. He informed me that he was going to 'ruin his Saturday' by going to the ex-employees house. When I asked when he would contact me back, regardless of whether he reached this ex-employee, Gary Cooper yelled at me, "I don't know!" I have not heard back from Bennet Cooper since. Now, at least for the time being, the Better Business Bureau states Bennett-Cooper Floors in Ramsey is out of business."
