Dollar Car Rental

"I drove a 4 year old vehicle which is fine.I was charged $100 for fuel when I returned the vehicle full of fuel. When I tried to get a refund It was refused, through an email, which ISN’T FINE!!! I will never rent from Dollar or Hertz companies again. It isn’t hard to be fair. This isn’t fair."

"DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!! * THEY WILL SCAM YOU WITH ADDED FEES THAT WERE NEVER MENTIONED TO YOU AFTER YOU RETURN THE VEHICLE. I am very dissatisfied with this company. My family recently rented 5 vehicles through Dollar and were taken advantage of from the time we called to get quotes until after we had returned the vehicles. The particular vehicle I rented had a dirty mask in the back of the front passenger seat that wasn’t found until after we had left the airport in Boston. We were assured due to COVID that all of their vehicles are cleaned and sanitized. Obviously ours wasn’t. Prior to returning our vehicles back in at the airport we stopped and cleaned them out as a courtesy. We wanted to leave them in as close as possible to the same condition as when we got them. Once we arrived home we noticed a cleaning fee (that was never mentioned to us one time) had been added to our credit card. It totaled $750 extra dollars for my family for 5 vehicles that were cleaned out prior to returning. We will never again rent through Dollar and will make sure to warn as many people as we can not to rent through them either."

"Worst rental office ever! When I picked up the car, it took an average of 15-20 minutes for each customer to get checked out. Meanwhile one of the staff members was yelling at everyone in line to have their licenses and credit cards ready (so loud and unprofessional!) when she should have been focusing on moving the people she was already helping. Reserved a mid size car and got a Toyota Corolla. (Will deal with the price difference when I get home) Returned the car this morning and the attendant said nothing. No hello, thank you, goodbye, nothing. Thought he was going to fall asleep while he printed my receipt. Zero personality or people skills. Zero!!! We are Hertz Gold Members and the only reason we used Dollar was because Hertz didn’t have cars available. Never, ever again. I’ll Uber before I have to use Dollar again."

"The good: I had to extend my rental twice (my mother had surgery and her release was delayed seven days) and they honored my original discounted rate. When I returned the car the computer added an early return fee but the agent removed the fee before I even knew about it. The bad: They close at 11:00 pm so if I had been delayed two more minutes they would have been closed, even though the website gives the impression that they will hold your car if your flight is delayed. When I returned my car, I had to go inside to the counter because they no longer staff the kiosk. I'm a Dollar Express member but that doesn't help you at this location. I will most likely rent from someone else when I travel to Little Rock next time."

"I reserved the car on line, quoted a price and picked it up at Little Rock Airport. I was not told until I added my wife as a driver at the location it was almost $100.00 more to do this. What's up with that! We had same insurance policy and well past the age of 25. Are they telling me men are better drivers than women!!! I've never paid that charge at any of the other locations I've used. The first car they tried to give us someone had smoked in it and it was unacceptable. They gladly exchanged it. (Replacement Car was Good) Finally when we returned the car the morning we were leaving no one was there to check it in. We parked at a random spot and went to the counter and they were closed. I dropped the key in a drop box and hoped the got the car. This should have been explained to us prior to leaving with the car. They knew what time our flight out was. Bottom line ask for all charges prior to renting from these people."
