"LOVE THIS PLACE! Excellent business owners, SUPERB customer service, and best of all, a comfortable, non corporate feel with that original ma and pa feel that we barely get these days. I will never Step foot in another hardware store but this one!!!! (Also the one in Bloomington that the owners took over) Both are equally as great!!!!"
"Always ready to help! Needed some specialty fastners and was directed to the right place right away. Very courteous help staff and the store is never very crowded."
"When I went and purchased and item there last Saturday specifically an ice scraper and salt for the side walk. I came in and the younger guy with a light beard dirty blonde hair didn't tell me about any of the return policies. I go in today and try to return the scrapper (I ended up not using it) but he said we can't return tools and we make it very transparent. Then he touches the sign tapped to the monitor. I'm sorry if you make it very transparent why don't you tell people when they buy tools there. Most places even ace hardware have 30 day return policy and if it weird they mention it at check out now I have a tool I don't need and didn't use. Big thing is be actually transparent and be more tentative to your customers the first time around. Also overpriced"
"Fantastic hardware store. They have a great selection, are incredibly helpful, and as a bonus, they are an independent, locally owned shop. We have purchased pretty much everything from here, from wall anchors to a high end battery powered snow blower. Prices are great (we've price shopped them, and they are on point), service is great, quality is great. Shop here with confidence."
"I wanted to like this local hardware store since its one of the last in the area but had a rather unusual experience. I went for 2 items - both of which they had. One item was marked 50$ and the other was 14$. After checking out I noticed that my 50 dollar item was marked 60 dollars on the receipt. Thinking maybe I misread the sticker I went back to the aisle to make sure I was correct. Sure enough it was 50$. I bring this up to the cashier to receipt the correct changes to the charge. I'm shrugged at and told that's the price. Then what I think was the manager approaches and tells me the sticker is wrong. He tells me its supposed to be marked 60$ and that the correct price is behind the front sticker...He takes me to the item to show me by peeling the sticker back and the price was actually 55$ not 60$...So it was still marked less than what they were telling me and what they rang me up for. We stand there for a good amount of time waiting for him to honor the price thats advertised and not the made up price that the cash register says. Finally Im laboriously given the 50$ price. But then when I am rung up at the counter instead of doing a full refund of my purchases. I'm refunded the new total(64) then they charge me again for the new price of the item(50). all this to say it was a very confusing purchase and I didn't feel it was a trustworthy interaction and for that I will not be back which is a shame...Perception is reality."
