Reviews of Scooter's Coffee
"Great service and food! Strawberry smoothie is delicious and so is the everything bagel sandwich. Can’t wait to go back!"
"Service is great! Very friendly staff and I was in and out in no time! The caramelicious and the maple waffle sandwich are great!"
"Would like for them to open up at 5:30 like the other coffee shops that are there competition down the boulevard. I come through at this time and like their coffee better but have to pass them up. Still like their coffee better."
"Well, this was my first Scooter's experience. I really wanted to like it, but unfortunately, I don't think I'll be going back. Full disclosure: this is opening day. But there was no other customer there the entire time we were there, so even if they don't have an opening crew to insure the best first experience (which any new franchise opening should), this shouldn't be overwhelming. So, to the review... From the first moment I pulled up, the staff was very courteous. That's why it has 2 stars instead of one. I rolled up with 4 people in the car, and each of us wanted to pay separately, so we each ordered a drink. The person taking our order was clearly not well versed in the menu, and she had to ask us a lot of questions about which item we were ordering, or what size when we were clear on the front end, and kept having to apologize. But again, it's opening day, and maybe they struggled to get people in time to train them up before opening? But she politely took each of our orders and made sure each was complete before moving on the the next person. So, props to the employee. Good hire. We roll around to pay for the drinks, and she accidently rang up cash instead of credit (no problem, that happens), but the leadership struggled to figure out how to get it back, and that took several minutes. They got all the drinks finished and handed out before the first transaction was done, and it's not because the drinks came out so quickly. The subsequent transactions were trouble free, but still a bit on the slow side. But again, all the staff was freindly, and no one was rude or visibly frustrated with us or each other. Now, on the the drinks. Unfortunately, this was a total failure. I can't compare to other Scooter's, as this is my first experience, but of the 5 drinks (one guy ordered two drinks to get a better sampling of the menu), one of them was okay, and the others weren't good. I'll break them down by each drink. The Cold Brew coffee looked like iced tea. No exageration. It had a good flavor, but was extremely weak. The black Columbian coffee tasted like it was coffee that had been sitting an microwaved. Maybe the beans were just really old? I'm not sure, but it's something you might expect from a back corner of a mom and pop gas station. Weak and bitter without any other flavor notes. The hot turtle latte was extremely sweet. It tasted like someone warmed up a hazelnut caramel coffee creamer and put it in the cup. We could detect no chocolate or coffee flavor. This may be preferable to some, but I wouldn't consider this a coffee beverage. The coconut energy infusion drink was the one that got the best review. He said that it was okay, the flavors were there, but it was just overly sweet. The Peanut Butter Power smoothie tasted like someone used the bad coffee from above, added a scoop of peanut butter and some ice and blended it up. As this drink is not supposed to be a coffee drink, and is supposed to have an "ice cream base," this was not a pleasant experience. Nor did it have a creamy mouth feel like you would expect a smoothie to have. So, all told, nice people, but at the end of the day, they don't have a product to sell. And again, it's really too bad, because I really thought it was going to turn out better. Every time something went wrong, I tried to reassure the other folks in the car that the experience wasn't over, and the drinks would probably be good. But alas, I was wrong. 7 Brew is right down the road. Go there."
