Reviews of Take 5 Oil Change
"Very quick professional service. Thoroughly explained what they were checking on my car. However, it was quite expensive. I wasn’t prepared to spend that kind of money on an oil change. But the employees were super nice."
"I have used them numerous times and was always satisfied until last week. I brought my truck in for a coolant flush. The following day, it was gushing coolant so I took it back. They said it was my “water pump”. I took it to the dodge dealership and it was not my water pump. They (Take 5) somehow punctured my radiator hose, which caused the gushing leak. I took the bill ($580) and part over to them so they could make it right and completely denied any wrong doing and wouldn’t even refund me the $132 I paid them for the coolant flush. I would never recommend them to anyone again. BEWARE"
"I've used Take5 many times and up til this last visit, I have been very happy. I'm an automotive technician by trade. After 30 years of doing it for a living, the idea of crawling around under my car for an oil change when I get home isn't high on the list of things I want to do. I'd rather pay someone I can trust to do it for me. Enter Take5. They are very thorough, utilize a high level of communication, and a smart double check system that sets me at ease. This last visit though, the young man that assisted me recommended a full-synthetic oil for my car at over $100 by the time you pay taxes and "shop fees". I thanked him, but asked for the economy (synthetic blend) instead. The manufacturer actually recommends SAE 5W20 conventional oil, but I've been using synthetic blend (a step up from conventional) since the car was new, 265,000 miles ago, including the last several oil changes done at this very location. Here's where I became concerned. He tried to tell me that he COULDN'T do the $49.99 economy oil change, instead he HAS to do the full synthetic at over twice the cost. I said that's funny, considering the last several oil changes I've gotten here have been the economy package, and showed him where my car actually calls for conventional. He sheepishly said okay, and I got what I wanted since I new better, got great service, and was on my way in less than 15 min. To be completely transparent, most modern vehicles DO call for a specific oil type and weight. They do because those engines are engineered around My concern is for the customers that don't know any better. Was this a random mistake, or yet another automotive entity trying to bully a customer base that typically doesn't know? In my career, I've fired technicians for trying to force customers into buying things they didn't need, and quit shops that expected me to do it. Call me old-fashioned if you like, but I like to sleep at night."
"First the staff are great, friendly and respectful. Unfortunately the company is not supplying this shop on central enough oil. I requested the standard oil change $49.99 but was informed that the were not receiving enough oil to provide the basic change, but did have the oil for the $89.99 one, a full synthetic oil. I believe the staff is telling the truth, but it is definitely off putting. The cost was $30 more not including filter. That is a pretty significant difference in price. I have to wonder if the company is doing this on purpose or is it a supply chain issue..."
"Charles and Mike did the service on my vehicle. I have always gone back to the dealer for simple, routine service but that takes half a day. So I thought I’d try something different and I am so happy I did. These guys were completely professional, everything was done perfectly and quickly, the price was reasonable and they made me feel completely at ease. I plan to use them again and highly recommend this location!"
