Reviews
"It has been several months since I received counseling from this person, and I wanted to take the time to gather my thoughts and process them, before I posted a review. Anytime I remember going to counseling, I am always reminded that I should leave a review so that others don't share my experience. I visited this office last year in September/October for marriage counseling and I felt, many times, that the counselor was dismissive of my pain and my experiences. I also felt that when offering my narrative, she was sincerely protective of other people's rights and abilities to treat me badly. She thought that she knew everything, but she only had part of the story. It was surprising that she was so supportive of people, that she did not know, who have emotionally and mentally abused me in the past. Her advice was not of empowerment, but, rather, of learning to cope with and tolerate the bad things that they have done, and have since, continued to do. She doesn't seem to believe in speaking up for oneself, or protecting oneself from harm. I find that disappointing. I also find it shameful. A decent person shouldn't support abuse, even if it's just emotional and mental. For a counselor to support this kind of abuse and to elevate those abusers is astonishing. I love my husband & my marriage is intact, but it's not because of people like her. The abusers of my past are still living in the past. They aren't in my present and may never be in my future. She recommended reconciliation. However, I will never be ashamed of cutting off abusive relationships. In general, I view what she did as rather unprofessional counseling...."
