"When we arrived shortly after hours, we found our site easily and with our name clearly posted on it. Our kids loved being so close the clear, comfortably warm water. Tent sites are nicely situated on a little forested peninsula and flat. Restrooms are air conditioned and clean. My son, who had never been to the state before, declared, “I love Arkansas!” only a few minutes after we arrived. Our only regret was not packing our bug spray, because of course there are mosquitoes."

"I love this place! I've stayed in a deluxe cabin in the past and this trip rented a camping cabin. Plenty of room, benches and tables for your belongings. Short walk to the bath house, which was clean and well maintained. I wish we could have stayed longer."

"Love this place. I'd stay again, any season or weather. Very cute camper cabins. They're very nice, as well as the bathroom/shower facility. We stayed in area c. These are located right next to rv hookups and it was somewhat crowded because of this but I'd still stay again. There are walking trails around to explore and the water is right there if you like fishing. There's a swimming area up the road. It's ok, not the cleanest. If your brakes and/or transmission are in need of servicing, definitely do that before coming here as the road has steep grades that can be slick and difficult to navigate when wet."

"There are 2 types of cabins available to rent at Lake Ouachita State Park. The higher end "regular" cabins (8 available) which resemble small cottages, and a more basic "camper cabin" (4 available). I rented the Camper Cabin - #62 for 3 night stay early November 2020. By camping standards, it was "high end". Since these were built in 2016, all the modern conveniences were evident. LED recessed ceiling lights, LED porch lights, Samsung mini split unit (albeit mounted WAY TOO low - at face-level. Whoever who installed these obviously didn't know what they were doing). I was however unlucky to have chosen a cabin with a bad mini split - so it was making variable whining noises all the time - which kept me up at night. Cabin location: None of the 4 camper cabins (even the closest one to the water) were really RIGHT at the water's edge. So DO NOT book these cabins expecting that. #59 is closest to the bathroom but has obstructed views of the water because of RV site (#58). #60 has NO views because it was built across the street on a piece of sloping land. #61 has partial view of the water/woods and is in between 2 cabins. #62 is the most private - having just 1 neighbor and woods on 2 sides. The shower and bathroom was 270 steps away from cabin #62. Facilities: Bathroom: The men's bathroom had 2 shower stalls (1 larger, accessible), 1 urinal, and 2 modern toilet stalls (1 larger, accessible) and 2 sinks. They were all VERY clean. Water pressure was impressively good, and hot showers were nice and hot. Tip #1: If you're picky like me, I always bring my own "luxury showerhead" when I travel, and it worked perfectly here! Tip #2: Bring a "shower caddy" to hold your toiletries. And don't forget to bring an "S-hook" to hang your shower caddy so you can get your toiletries while showering since there're really no good place to put them other than the handle bar rail. Tip #3: even though the toilet paper provided is decent, it's always nicer to bring your own Charmin. In addition to being clean, the toilet bowls themselves were high quality Kohler ones, with equally high quality "thick" seats. No cheap plastic seats here! This toilet bowl will not be out of place in a nice high-end hotel or restaurant! Kudos to their product selection team! During this COVID pandemic, they close the whole bathroom building for cleaning/disinfection from 10pm to 9am. A single porta potty was provided in case you need to use the toilet during the closed hours. I found sometimes the cleaning crew will unlock the door at 7am, which was nice. Cabin: Outside the cabin area, you have a water spigot (threaded, so you can attach a hose if desired), a post-mounted grill (with 4-level adjustable height grate, but no grill cover). Tip: bring a grill wire brush There was also a lantern hanger, a metal bench/table and a metal fire pit with a cooking grate if you wish to cook over the wood fire. Tip #1: firewood was sold at the visitor center for $5.40.bundle. They were a little "green" and hard to burn. If you can, buy firewood from the nearby towns. Tip #2: if you'd like to sit by the fire to keep warm or to roast some marshmallows, bring along a camping chair. The bench was located too far away from the fire pit. There was a 110V standard household receptacle outlet on the outside wall of the cabin nearest to the parking spots, if you wish, you can bring a string light and light up the site! Or, if you have an electric vehicle, you can use it as your level 1 charging outlet - if you're staying a few nights. Inside, there was a queen sized bed and a 2-level twin sized bunk bed with mattress and a blue fitted mattress protector/cover. You have to bring your own bedding, pillow, comforter. There was also a rectangular dining table with 2 bench style chairs, probably good for 6-8 people. There's a food prep counter with granite table top and storage drawers, a luggage bench. 2 ceiling fans (one inside, one in the patio). Great choice for "glamping"!"
