"Very disappointed our last trip. We took a group of Boy Scouts for the weekend our reservation were completely messed up and split. The campground was overcrowded and noisy till after 3am. There was no support from management. We were rudely we could leave whenever we wanted to. Without a refund. Then we were double charged for equipment rental. It’s sad this used to be a great place for families and such to go but it’s definitely not anymore"
"We stayed in cabin 3. I'm 6'4" and tue doors and ceiling are pretty low. I wouldn't recommend it if your over 6'. Other than that... it was really nice with a great view."
"Had the worst customer service experience. One of the 15 tubes we rented popped when it hit one of the rocks 20 mins into our journey down the river so we called to ask for a new one, but they said to call when we arrived at a designated area. When we did, nobody answered after calling 3 times, so we kept going. When we reached the end, the gentleman waiting for us was super nice and apologetic and said I would get a refund for that tube rental. However, when I arrived at the office to provide my credit card for the refund, the young girls that were there told me I wasn’t getting a refund since it was my responsibility and that it was in the contract I had signed. One in particular was very snarky and unprofessional, so much so that she even told me “byeeee” very sarcastically as I was walking out upset. This business shouldn’t even be allowing people to “float” down the River when the water level is so low. We had to drag out tubes 90% of the time, and had small kids with us. They of course don’t tell you that when you reserve the tubes. We are in a family vacation and this was supposed to be one of the highlights of our trips, but instead it ended up being such an unpleasant experience all around. I wish they would at least train their staff to provide better customer service and be more professional."
"Ok... I've been on lots of rivers and lakes, never the Caddo. What a nice river! Most of the river is wooded on the shoreline. However, we were told there is private property along the river and to stay on the rock bars. No biggie and I don't blame the property owners. We saw only a few houses. I would say it looks very similar to the lower Buffalo river but on a smaller scale. I thought the prices were fair, the staff very friendly and parking safe. We started in their private parking and floated down 4.5 miles or so. When you get to the "big rock" in the middle of the river you are near the end. Trust me, you will know the big rock when you see it. As soon as we finished the float, the bus was there to take us back. Maybe a 15-20 minute ride back. Some of it on a dusty road. We rented a single kayak, double kayak and a canoe. The kayaks were fine but most canoes we saw had many miles on them and were worn. Would I be back with this outfitter and float the Caddo?? Yes! Had a great time! Tip, go on a Sunday or during the week... Saturdays will be crazy. I did see basic camping at the boat launch and think they rent cabins. Have fun floating but stay away when I'm there. I'm greedy and don't like big crowds in the boonies!"
"Overall it was a great time. We plan to do it again, but now that we have gone once we know what we need to actually bring to have the best experience. Things to think about... 1. If you are a larger person, bring your own floatation device. The ones the provide for rent are NOT comfortable. 2. The floating cooler rafts are not worth the extra $20. Ours had holes in the netting and no others were available. 3. If you're a large group trying to tie off together, find a way to do it so that the really narrow gaps don't cause harm to some of your fellow floaters. Three tubes burst due to snagging on limbs in the very narrow gaps. 4. Make sure your water shoes have THICK soles to them. There are a few spots (even though the water was considered high for our trip) that you have to get out and walk your tubes through because it's so shallow, but the rocks are large and many are sharp. (3 of the 8 people with us got holes in their water shoes and were injured because of this)"
