"This campground is great. It is well maintained, and in a beautiful location on the river. I think in the busiest season, I would prefer somewhere else simply because the campsites are rather close together. However, it wasn't busy at all when we went. That could have had something to do with the fact that they had a lightening strike that damaged their water system, so there was no running water at the time we went. But a ranger even came by to make sure we knew about the lack of water even though they had signs everywhere. She was super nice about it all, and the camping fee was waived! The lack of water was not a problem though. We brought water with us, and Jasper/Harrison are not far away, so we could have easily picked up bottled water in a nearby store. Also the vault toilet was one of the nicest/cleanest I have seen. The beaches on the river at this site are lovely and we enjoyed cooling off in the water after setting up camp. The view of the cliffs at this spot is another great bonus. There is no playground, which would have been a nice, but I certainly can't complain about that because everything else was so great. We also enjoyed watching wildlife (small mammals, birds, and fish.) If you are looking for a campsite on the Buffalo River in this area, Ozark is definitely worth checking out."
"Very nice campground. The driveway to it is steep and gravel, so just go slow. No reservations. There are a lot of nice spots close to the river. There are bathrooms and water spigots but no shower or electric hookups. Sites have the standard grill and thing to hang food and whatnot for preventing wildlife from getting into your pack. We set up our tent and went down to the river for less than 30 minutes and returned to our campsite to find obese squirrels and ravens eating our bag of dry food. They are crazy fast, so keep your stuff locked up. Some spots are close to parking and others are not, so keep that in mind if you have a lot to carry to your site. I liked how close the area is to trails. No cell service, which is ideal in some ways, but you may want to save directions to wherever you plan to go just in case. Overall a nice campground."
"We just went to the river to go swimming. It was nice and relaxing. The water was warm and deep enough to swim in (over my head and I’m 6’4”). Lots of little fish. Water was very clear and the sandy beach was nice. Water was very low for the river but we still enjoyed the swim."
"Nice campground with access to buffalo river. There are 2 types of camp site. Park and camp and walk-in camp. Can swim or kayak or other water activities. The campground itself is organized and clean. Busy on holiday but not on weekdays. Rest room are available. Some deep wells are not working. No shower available. Has to drive a county rough road. No store in the campground. Rate: $20/night. I will go back again but will prefer the walk-in camp site. The park and camp can be annoying especially at night for late check-ins in the campground."
"We have stayed at this campground several times. All of the sites are first come first serve. Plan accordingly if it’s a holiday weekend. The cost is $20 per night, and a limit of 6 people per campsite. The Park Rangers do verify registration and ensure people are following the regulations. There are restrooms available during the majority of the year, but there are no showers. You have easy access to the Buffalo river, and is easy for putting in or taking out for a float. Be sure to check river levels if you are planning to float the river."
