"I just had a horrible experience at this establishment! I reserved a room 1 year ago and called last week to reconfirm. I spoke with a male employee my first call (who ran my Visa card) and spoke with a female the second time. He assumed it was a reservation for 2 to which I replied, “no, just me and my dog.” When I pulled up Friday afternoon a woman came running out when she saw my service dog in the side grass. She yelled that “dogs were not allowed on the property.” I told her I had a reservation and gave her my last name. She immediately started shaking uncontrollably and began to rant that “a previous guest snuck in a dog with fleas and her special needs daughter who works as their maid could not get rid of them.” She then said “another guest snuck in a dog that barked all night and kept other guests awake which led to a negative online review.” I offered to retrieve his card and paperwork from my car but she refused to view it. She kept mentioning her handicapped daughter, asked me for details of why I even had a service dog and stated she didn’t believe me. About that time a male employee came walking through the lobby, stopped and yelled that I was “lying about my reservation” and said, “this is a BIG issue!” I did not want to keep my extremely sensitive dog in such a hostile environment and said I would make some calls and try to find other accommodations if they would not allow me to stay with a service dog. I asked the woman if she was aware of ADA guidelines and she said “they were but would not allow any dogs on-site.” I walked up and down the Main Street of Jasper but all of the hotels were at full capacity. I called my friends that I was meeting in Jasper and they advised me to get out of there ASAP. They assured me we would figure out some alternative accommodations. I walked back into their lobby to run my Visa for a refund but nobody was there. I called their main number and said I was in the lobby and the same female hung up on me. I called the number again (Googled the Jasper Police Department number in case I needed assistance) and waited another 10-15 minutes for anyone to come to the desk. The same female finally came down and said, “I am a Godly woman and I will pray for your soul. There’s nothing worse than a liar.” She then berated me several more times stating nastily, “what exactly does that dog even do for you?” which I found particularly offensive if she does in fact have a “special needs” daughter as she mentioned several times. I took the receipt she tossed on the front desk and could not hit that front door fast enough! I have no idea what’s really going on in that house but do know that they discriminate against people with disabilities, have the worst customer service I’ve ever encountered and are verbally abusive and volatile. I would recommend staying far away from this Jasper, Arkansas establishment."
"We stayed in the tree top suite. Rooms were clean and roomy. The beds were firmer than I like and taller than I am used to. The air conditioning was nice and cold, and fans were also provided. My husband smokes, so having the upstairs covered porch was great."
"Looks can be deceiving! The unassuming exterior hides lovely rooms, a library, community space with videos, piano, etc. The owners are very friendly, The rooms are well equipped and clean. We will be back."
"We loved our stay here! Very friendly staff and great vibe. We stayed in the Rose Suite and it was immaculately clean and spacious. Plenty of room for our family. And the MOST COMFORTABLE beds we have ever had in any hotel before. I highly recommend staying here."
"This place is CRAZY. We ride motorcycles and usually stay in motels, but there were not a lot of options in Jasper, so we rolled the dice. We got the room with a balcony, lovely! I couldhave moved into the bathroom, it was HUGE and very nicely designed and decorated. The lobby must be seen to be appreciated. Rock garden behind the place and you can walk down to the river. The lady owner was very nice. Her husband is extremely conservative and shared his opinions with us unasked, which we didn't care for. Also, I really like Jasper Arkansas and the Ozark Cafe is a great restaurant for breakfast and dinner and is only a short walk away. Other than the unwanted political opinion totally out of the blue, 5 stars."
