"To get to this wonderful getaway Airbnb, we traveled down a dirt road blanketed on either side by thick forest until, suddenly to our right, there was a refreshingly wide break of sunny space. Beyond the ancient oaks shading the driveway & past the new rail fence sat our destination: a charming country home with cedar shutters & vintage shellback chairs on a sweet porch calling out to us, “Welcome to Bertie’s Nest.” Oh, my goodness, this was such a precious place for me to spend with family! Although the setting is long-ago Arkansas, the interior of the home is modern, open, & tastefully decorated to give it a homey feel. There’s plenty of elbow room for large gatherings. The kitchen is big & super easy for 3 people to prepare meals in at once! My favorite room was the dining room with its long farm table & tall windows that looked out at the mountains. My husband’s favorite spot was the extra wide back deck that was completely roofed & outfitted with ceiling fans & BBQ grill--a beautiful spot to drink coffee in the mornings while watching the grandkids running in the mowed field or paddle boating on the pond. Yes, the kids actually put their I-pads down & went exploring the hiking trails! They swung on grapevines, climbed over huge creek boulders, found a cave, were surprised by tree trunk fairy houses, & poked sticks in all the critter burrows. This was truly a glorious vacation. I told myself, “I’m coming back here—but alone next time—so I can peacefully soak it all in!”"

"A remote and serene Air BnB with all the luxuries of being at home! Definitely a place to "get away from it all." Take the trail at the back left corner of the field down to the river. Photos added of what it looks like when it's dry. Very cool rock formations and a great representation of the natural beauty of Arkansas."
