Reviews
"The Tennis Shoppe sells on amazon. Their products are listed as eligible for "FULL REFUND" but then they charge the buyer for return shipping. At no point in the purchasing process is the buyer made aware of return shipping charges. Deceptive business practices. Buyers should beware"
"Best selection and knowledge of everything racquets and stringing in the south. String while you shop."
"I share the same sentiment as some other reviewers on here. The customer service is horrible. The guy acted like I shouldn’t even be in the store or something (I’m black and wasn’t dressed to impress). It’s been awhile since I have played, but I happen to be in the area, so I stopped in. I felt very unwelcome. If you plan to shop here, come in with a suit on or something, so they won’t think you are broke. They will judge you on your appearance. I happen to make well over six figures. At any rate, Amazon doesn’t discriminate. We live in a world where online shopping is king, so if I owned this shop, I would be sure that I provided the best customer experience possible."
"I really want to support local businesses, and so I shopped here a number of times, when I could have gone elsewhere or shopped online. But I will NEVER shop at this place again. The problem was a tennis racquet I purchased for my son in August. It was a Babolat racquet, fairly expensive, over $350. Less than a month later, while playing with him, he mishit a ball on the rim of the racquet, and it cracked. I thought it was a broken string, but the whole frame broke! I'd never seen that happen before, and I have been playing tennis for almost 40 years... The tennis pro where we play suggested that it should be covered by the warranty, as it was so new, so we took it back to the Tennis Shoppe. The man working (who had sold us the racquet) said he would "need to speak to his manager" and would call us back. We left the racquet with him. Never got a call back. Three weeks later, I went in to check on it. This time I spoke to the owner. Clearly, nothing had happened - he said he was waiting to "hear back" from the Babolat rep. When I asked if he had ever seen that sort of thing before, he told me "racquets will break when you throw them," indicating he felt that we were being dishonest about what happened. He generally acted annoyed that I was there. Still promised to let us know when they heard back from Babolat. Finally in December 2023 (3 months after I had brought the broken racquet in) I went back in for the last time. This time, I was told that the Babolat rep has been unreachable for the past 7 months. What a joke! Took my broken racquet and left. I recognize that treating customers with respect is something of a lost art, but these guys do a very poor job of it."
"I'm seeing a number of reviews stating this same issue. When I returned the shoes, they charged me almost 1/2 the cost of the shoes because the shoe box was damaged in shipping. In their comments, they were like angry parents scolding a child, not professional at all. I would not recommend ever buying shoes from them."
