"Had this insurance for house and vehicles for 16 years. Never had an at fault accident and on the 16th year I had damage to my home from windstorm. Siding was no longer available to purchase so Nodak only paid for 1 side of the property instead of 4. They would not budge. I approached my agent looking for help, to which he forwarded an email to the adjustor and did not respond to me until I emailed again. No help for me. I had to come up with over $9,000 to cover the damage to my home out of pocket plus the deductible. In addition, about 4 years ago I contemplated purchasing a vehicle and adding a driver to my policy. The deal did not look good so I told agent to forget it, I was not going to purchase the vehicle. The agent CANCELS MY CURRENT CAR INSURANCE. I found out by getting pulled over with no insurance on my car. When I contacted the agent, he would not respond. I called, I emailed, I contacted his assistant. Nothing. This year after the claim on my home, I contacted another agent within the same company to switch to. This "new" agent assured me that he would get the documentation together, etc etc and when I logged into my account to pay my dues 3 months later, guess what? I knew you could not guess it, I still had the old agent. I called the "new" agent and asked what was going on and he began to stutter around back peddling about how he was unclear. No, I told him, our conversation was completely clear and YOU said you would transfer the paperwork. So then he blathers on about how switching agents is very political...which may be true but I should have been told BACK THEN that he was not willing to be my new agent. I am extremely angry with this company for treating a loyal customer as they have. I just wish I was not so stupid as to stay with them 16 years (plus additional years for car insurance) before I got tired of being treated horribly. Do not waste your money or your time. You will not find out what a horrid company this is until you need them and then it is too late. I would give ZERO stars if I could."
