Reviews of Hot Springs Animal Hospital
"Was visiting Hot Springs from Texas. One of our dogs was having stomach issues. I called the vet in Texas who suggested we get the dog looked at immediately. Hot Springs Animal Hospital was the only local vet we found willing to accommodate us on that; and at the end of the day I am very glad it worked out that way. From Alisha on the phone, telling us to bring the dog in and what advance paperwork was required, to Addison checking us in, to Joe taking the dog to the exam area, to Sierra briefing us on what would be done, to Dr. Brian going over their findings - everything and everyone was 5-Star / Top-Shelf. I would highly recommend them for any pet/animal owner."
"We were traveling and needed to have our fur baby checked by a vet. We googled and found the Lake Hamilton Hot Springs Animal Hospital. Wonderful, friendly service from the moment we arrived! Alicia was welcoming and Dr. Rachel was awesome! Thank you for seeing our Lola!"
"I've taken both my dogs here several times and they are very professional and caring staff. The main issue is that I've been in line waiting for a while a few different times and someone will come in and stand in front of me. The staff always help the closest person regardless of who was waiting/first. It's incredibly frustrating to be skipped in line, the front desk staff see what happens and always let the other person get away with it. They treat the animals and owners very well and try to tell you about discounts for products/services, but the frustration of the intial issue taints that. Just be prepared and stand right in front of the front desks. Seems to be the only way to not be skipped over and sometimes that doesn't even work."
"TL:DR They refused to give me my dog for being five minutes late. Their reviews are mostly paid for. I took my dog to Hot Springs Animal Hospital for daycare since I injured my foot and my dog has been getting cabin fever from the sharp drop in activity. When I called to make a reservation, they picked up the phone and then put me on hold for almost 10 minutes before I hung up, called back and almost immediately got someone on the phone. I figured they were busy, so not a huge deal. When I went to drop my dog off, Addison was working the front desk and spent nearly the entire time complaining about the phones ringing and expressing annoyance that someone hung up and called back (after being on hold for more than 5 minutes). When it came time to sign the boarding agreement, Addison told me there wasn't a physical copy, just what was on the monitor and that I should sign it anyways because it's a standard boarding agreement. This should have been a red flag. Fast forward to the end of the day. I was caught on a work call that was running long and it looked like I might be a couple of minutes late. I couldn't stop the call to take the 10 plus minutes needed to get ahold of someone, but I figured they would give a courtesy call so I could drop for the 15 seconds it would take to tell them I'm running a 5 minutes late. No call ever came, and my work call ended 2 minutes before they closed. I immediately tried calling Hot Springs Animal Hospital, the phone rang a couple of times before going to voicemail. I called again, and the same thing happened. It was almost like Addison was sending incoming calls to voicemail because it was close enough to closing to not be her problem. After 5:30, their system goes straight to an automated message. I arrived at Hot Springs Animal Hospital 5 minutes after it closed, knocked on the door, tried calling, but nothing. When Addison and her co-worker came out about 15 minutes later, Addison explained that she called her manager when it was getting close to closing to see what she should do, and apparently the thought of calling the owner never occurred to either of them. Addison thought it was foreign concept when I mentioned that this is how every professional boarder I've dealt with (including the one my sister is an office manager of). Addison refused to give me my dog back claiming that she processed the paperwork for an overnight stay so she couldn't give him back. Even when I said I was fine paying the overnight rate, just give me back my dog, she said she couldn't and that I should come back when they opened. When I went to go pick up my dog, it took them another 10 minutes to get the invoice together because it was never changed to the overnight like Addison claimed she had done. While they were trying to fix Addison's laziness/incompetence, I noticed that they offer 10% off of services (including vet services) for leaving a review on google, before you paid, before you get your dog back. I also don't know that the conditions are like back in the kennels, but my dog came back reeking so bad, I had to give him another bath after bathing him earlier in the week. Just an overall poorly run place with some incompetent or lazy staff members."
"Best Vet around. Dr. Brown is very knowledgeable, able to explain thing for those that are unable to understand vet field. The staff is amazing. My dog was very sick and they took him in as walk-in and nurse him back to health, but was very honest of what the possible out comes could be good and bad. They also care for my one of my dogs, that was attack any another dog, Dr. Brown fixed him up and check on him weekly. They also care for my other dogs, regular exams and vaccines and do a great job. This is our go to vet for preventative care and emergency care."
