Reviews of Conway Behavioral Health Hospital
"Extremely disorganized institution. Impossible to get information about assessment results. Care is not individualized. Medications are not administered as prescribed. The HIPPA form needed talk to a social worker to get information on patient progress and discharge planning is not in admissions packet. The phone number for this hospital is not accurate in the patient handbook we were given. The admissions team seemed professional, compassionate and knowledgeable, which was appreciated as we were in a crisis situation at that time. But after admission the communication is non existent. The nurse Ruth Ann was extremely helpful. Ruth Ann was professional, compassionate and insightful. She went above and beyond to tell us about the medications that were prescribed for my daughter and monitor her for safety. Ruth Ann identified my daughter’s specific needs which brought us great comfort, but she was my daughter’s nurse for only one day. The units seem understaffed for the setting and needs of patients. The website shows treadmills for physical activity and there are none. The programmimg stated in patient handbook and on website is misrepresented."
"If you are considering admitting yourself or your child into this hospital, I would STRONGLY recommend you to stop considering that and look into other avenues...IMMEDIATELY. I was admitted to this hospital back in late June of 2023. I was at a low in my life, and I needed help. To be clear, this place did NOT help. In fact, it may have made things worse. After 5 to 6 hours of waiting in a cold chair in the waiting room, I finally got to go to bed. I also was physically sick and was not offered any sort of medicine for this until THREE days of being the hospital. I repeat it took THREE days to get medicine for being physically sick...in a HOSPITAL. I saw a psychiatrist ONCE. He barely looked at me and talked to me for about 5 minutes before prescribing me a medicine that he prescribed to several other fellow patients. The group therapy sessions were a JOKE. It was obvious that the therapists were not well trained and did not need to be there. I also attended a one on one therapy session ONCE for 15 minutes. Throughout my stay there, at least once a day, a nurse would ask me a series of questions including: 1. On a scale of 1 to 10, how is your anxiety? 2. On a scare of 1 to 10, how is your depression? 3. Have you thought of harming yourself or others? Some of the nurses would pull you aside and ask you this question. While one nurse would just ask you this question in front of all the other patients. Now reader (if anyone is reading this), why in the world would I be honest when I know there are a bunch of people listening? Also, why would I be honest if I know to answer in a certain way in order for me to get myself out? The nurses made fun of the patients TWICE while I was there...I REPEAT twice!! One time, a nurse literally MOCKED a patient asking for medicine IN FRONT of the patients. Also, while I was in there, my family and I were working to get into a long term mental health facility in Florida called HoneyLake. In order to get into HoneyLake, one has to fill out an application. We were told by Conway Regional Behavioral Health, I would be able to fill this out. It was dropped off at the front desk by my dad. I also told my therapist at the hospital about it. I asked a nurse about. I asked for my social worker who was NO where to be found. Guess when I got it back? An hour before my parents came to pick me up. The last thing I will say is it is PRICEY. Considering the amount of "NEGATIVE" help you get in there, it is NOT worth it. When I left the hospital, they promised and signed a certain price of $5,000. Thankfully, my dad kept that because low and behold, they sent us a bill for $13,000. When we went to call them about this, they didn't answer their phone. (Plus, when I was in the hospital and family and friends wanted to call, it was a terrible system and many people couldn't reach me!) When I went up to the hospital to discuss, the lady said that we owed the $13,000, and when I told her about the paper, she said quickly changed her mind. Also, when I confronted her about not answering phones, she mumbled an excuse. They want to keep you there as long as possible because they want your money. I was actually placed on an involuntary 72 hour hold since I wanted to go to HoneyLake and not this hospital. Holidays do not count and neither do weekends. If you are placed on one, know that you will probably be there for a week. Now I will give credit where credit is due! The techs (well most of the techs) were WONDERFUL :) Nancy was a queen! She was so kind and made me feel like things were going to be okay. She was such a light in the midst of such a scary time! There were a few other techs that were beyond gentle and kind and for that, I will be forever grateful. (There were some techs that weren't so kind though.)Also, many of the other patients were warm and comforting. It's saying something when you enter into a mental hospital, and some of the only kind people to you are other patients. Conway Regional Behavioral Health, you failed me and so many others. You should be ashamed of yourself."
"would give this place 0 stars if i could. it felt like i was being held hostage and mislead through the whole process. they lied to my family and twisted things i said to make me seem worse. they accepted me for inpatient even though i didn’t know my insurance had expired, now i have a large bill popping up on me almost 5 months later. they lost all of my belongings and all 4 of my piercing jewelry. i still haven’t gotten anything back or even a phone call. inhumane and you can definitely tell when staff pick favorites. an employee here was in touch with someone i didn’t want to speak to outside the facility and let that person know i was doing inpatient without my permission. the employee further tried to get us to communicate. overall this place gave me more mental problems leaving than coming in. edit. also staff threatening to keep me for longer when i was only expressing my hopes to leave early. other patients being violent, their yelling met with violence from the staff"
"Conway Behavioral allowed the Arkansas School Counselor Association use their facilities for the annual board members’ Leadership Development Institute. As an ArSCA board member, I was so impressed at how clean and beautiful the building and grounds were, and Becca and Michelle were excellent hosts! Thank y’all so much!"
