"Ok, the problem with this place is that it's not next door to my house! The grilled cheese brisket sandwich is the perfect mix of savory, sweet, and salt. I'm hard to impress, but this was awesome! I'll be back in the area just to eat here! Can I camp out in the parking lot?"
"Came here since it was on the way home from Hot Springs for the first time, and I have to say the ribs here are bomb! Didn't even need sauce to give it any flavor. The seafood gumbo was a bit salty but, bearable. It was a bit different from what I'm accustomed to. Definitely recommend the barbecue here though minus the sausage. Very tender and breaks without a knife."
"Found a family owned restaurant outside of Hot Springs with very good food. Our waitress was super nice and helpful. Definitely would recommend the smothered chicken, baked potato, and brisket Mac N cheese. They also have great desserts."
"The meal I had today would best be described as “Saturday’s leftover BBQ warmed up on Wednesday for dinner.” I got the Sampler Platter: brisket, pork, sausage and ribs, with BBQ beans and slaw. The brisket and the pork were dry. The sausage was good and the ribs fair. The beans were a thick paste like refried beans. They had simmered on the warmer too long or just got thick from reheating. A plate of microwave warmed food. The slaw was average like the service. The portions were large. Red Oak Filling Station is a big roomy building decorated with the standard BBQ joint scheme (barn tin, deer heads, and rough-cut lumber.) It probably fills up on Friday and Saturday night with beer drinkers and local’s not wanting to cook dinner. There are plaques on the wall proclaiming recognition of the fine food. The testimonials did not match my experience. This was catfish Friday. I should have ordered catfish."
"This is a great restaurant with nice vibes and a very wide menu selection. Their country fried steak is one of the best I have ever had in my life. The loaded baked potato was fantastic as well. Our server, Amber, went above and beyond to ensure a great experience for all of us by helping to accommodate dietary restrictions for one person in our group. Would definitely come back here again!"
